This contest between the Portland Trailblazers and Memphis Grizzlies pits the 12th place team against the second-place team in the Western Conference which is why the spread being so low raises some concerns if you want to wager on the Grizzlies.

Memphis comes into the game off a win against the Pacers but had lost five straight prior to that contest. The team defense they pride themselves on has taken a nose dive and despite being ranked No.1 in the NBA in defensive rating, they’ve given up a ton of points during that slump. At home, however, the Grizzlies tend to show up and show out – owning a 21-3 record at FedEx Forum.

As for the Blazers, they are once again stuck in mud. They are not good enough to compete with the top dogs, but not bad enough to give themselves a chance at a high lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft. This will be the team’s first road game since Jan 17 and with a losing record away from home. I’m not sure how they keep up with the Grizzlies in this one.

If the Grizzlies can contain Portland’s three-point efforts, they should find themselves cruising to an easy victory and cover for us bettors.
