Matt Calvert is a serviceable NHL player. The forward for the Columbus Blue Jackets finished the regular season with 10 goals and five assists in 65 games. However, Calvert had a poor showing on Friday and his team is crumbling at the absolute worst time of year, losers of eight of their last nine and now down 2-0 in their first round series with the Pittsburgh Penguins .
I wouldn’t save Calvert is taking this losing well, as he decided to take out his frustration on the neck of Penguins forward Tom Kuhnhackl to the point that Calvert actually broke his stick into two pieces over Kuhnhackl’s neck.

I think even in playoff hockey that qualifies as a cheap shot and if Twitter is any type of barometer on these kinda things he won’t be playing in Game 3.
Matt Calvert broke more sticks over players backs tonight than the Blue Jackets have playoff regulation wins— ㅤ (@PenguinsWorId) April 15, 2017
What else would people need to see from Calvert to make that a suspendable hit? "Well, he didn't spit on Kuhnhackl while he was down."— Sean Gentille (@seangentille) April 15, 2017
Still awaiting word on any Matt Calvert punishment by the NHL, but word is that, in the future, total decapitations will be a double-minor.— Dave Molinari (@MolinariPG) April 15, 2017
