Marvin Jones Jr. is doing just fine in the NFL, but if he is looking for a career after football music could be an option. The Detroit Lions wide receiver appeared on American Idol and drew rave reviews from pop superstar Katy Perry.
Jones auditioned for a spot on new year's show during the Lions bye week. He sang Tank's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' infant of stunned judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.

Jones began signing in his church choir as a youth. He didn’t like it at first, often crying when put on the spot, but it soon became a passion. He has a full recording studio in the basement of his home, writing his own songs and hopes to one day be featured in a TV show or a movie.
Perry asked why he didn’t go into music instead of football, while Bryan laughed and said because he’s so insanely athletic. His fate is unknown until the episode airs on March 11th.
