The Nashville Predators are open for business and according to sources close to operations in Toronto, the Maple Leafs have reached out to discuss a blockbuster deal.

The trade would see forward Filip Forsberg headed to the Maple Leafs in return for a package that includes winger William Nylander, defenseman Travis Dermott and at least one prospect, likely defenseman Timothy Liljegren.  

The 26-year-old Forsberg was left off the Preds' untouchable list which surprised many executives across the NHL and apparently the Maple Leafs have been doing their home work and were quick to reach out.
