Indians outfielder Austin Jackson made a leaping catch over the outfield wall a few weeks back and that is the gold standard for the year, well it has some competition now from Junior Little League World Series.
Jack Regenye put his name into the conversation.
This play from Pennsylvania's Jack Regenye in the Junior League World Series is the catch of the year. Unreal. pic.twitter.com/iNPmOtWU1q— Chat Sports (@ChatSports) August 20, 2017
The outfielder for the East-KAU Little League team out of Pennsylvania put his body on the line Sunday afternoon against Chinese Taipei, as he cleared the fence to rob a hitter of a home run. There was a bit of controversy after the play when the umpires on the field initially overtuned the call to a home run but after conferring they changed the call back to an out.
The catch was amazing, but also meaningless as Chinese Taipei stomped the American squad 12-1.
