In most parts of the country, long time Patriots coach Bill Belichick is on the list of most hated figures in sports. In Boston he’s perhaps the most beloved or at least appears on the Mount Rushmore. On Wednesday night, the notoriously grumpy coach had front row seats as LeBron James was in Boston to play the Celtics. In a matchup King James has statistically dominated throughout his career.

In last night’s battle of Eastern Conference powerhouses the Celtics squeaked out a W in a game that very much had a playoff atmosphere. Isaiah Thomas scored 31 points for the C’s, including a late go-ahead triple, stealing the headlines from LeBron James who earned his seventh triple-double of the season.
But the real headline, was LeBron not taking advantage of his opportunity to live out many sports fans dreams and layout Bill Belichick, opting instead to pull up.
It was an opportunity many a fan has dreamed of… smash Belichick without fear of repercussions and instantly change the landscape of the NFL. Looks at the cheer terror in his eyes as the coach see’s LeBron running at him. LeBron explained his reasoning for slowing down and not barrelling over the 7x Super Bowl winner.
It wasn’t the only run-in James and Belichick had. After the game, the two met up and had an “inspiring” conversation.
