There are only so many athletes that are must watch guys. Tom Brady down by one possession with less than two minutes in the fourth quarter, the Golden State Warriors when they’re on a run. The exact opposite of Yu Darvish in the World Series (too soon?). For more than a decade Tiger Woods in his Sunday red was must-see TV.

LA Clippers head coach Doc Rivers is a golf junkie and has an amazing story of going to great lengths in an attempt to watch Tiger Woods play. Rivers who plays out of historic Bel-Air Country Club, talked about his love of golf on Wednesday, telling a story about trying to get ejected when Tiger was making a run at the Masters during his tenure with the Boston Celtics.

Rivers says he received a text message from his general manager/boss Danny Ainge, telling Doc to get himself kicked out of a game so they could watch Tiger play together.

This story came up because of Game 7 of the World Series last night. The Clippers were playing the Dallas Mavericks and that would have prevented Doc Rivers from seeing any of it go down. No word if Rivers got a text from Clippers’ general manager Michael Winger to watch last nights Dodgers game.
