Sports Radio is all about hot takes, and today the biggest bandwagon in the NFL is the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid. Most people will admit that regular season Andy Reid is one of the top coaches in the league.
Reid, of course, spent 14 seasons with the Eagles making it to four straight NFC Championship games. Reid is 177-114-1 is his NFL head coaching career. Colin Cowherd points out he has a better winning percentage than Mike Holmgren, Bill Parcells, and Tom Coughlin.
All legitimate information, then Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd went on a bit of a rant and let the world know how he feels about Philadelphia sports fans. The Herd host took a few minutes out of his show to call out the “dumbest sports city in America.” His premise? That they continue to run elite coaches out of town.
There are some details that the host is missing like Reid’s infamous poor clock management, getting out-coached in crunch time, playoff flops after dominant regular seasons. Reid was fired in 2012 after the Eagles finished with a 4-12 record, their worst since the team went 3-13 record in 1998. Terry Francona’s four-year tenure as Phillies manager, the team went 285-363, and never finished with more than 77 wins. It was also Francona’s first job as a major league manager, there was a learning curve.
The Eagles’ Twitter account had a great response.
