It's a lesson the Mariners should know better than anyone: You never, ever give Vladimir Guerrero an extra chance to beat you. But Tuesday night at Angel Stadium, the Mariners did, and he made them pay as Los Angeles opened a two-game series with a 7-3 victory. Guerrero, the ultimate Mariner killer with a .364 career average against Seattle, hit a ball deep to right-center in the first inning with a man on base. But Ichiro Suzuki made a running catch at the wall, averting disaster. In Guerrero's next at-bat in the third inning, he came up with two men on and his team trailing 3-0.
