Terrell Owens News & Rumors

Former Cowboys WR Terrell Owens announces he will play for IFL's Allen Wranglers
"About 31 miles from where he once caught passes, preened in front of millions and made headlines, former Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens plans to revive his football career. Owens, 38, announced Wednesday night in a 22-second video linked to his Twitter account that he will join the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League as both a player and a part-owner. "It's official, Owens said. "It just went down. I'm headed back to Texas. That's right, IFL, here I come." The 16-team league, which started play in 2009, appears ready to embrace him. "This is a very exciting event in the history of the Indoor Football League," IFL commissioner Tommy Benizio said on the league's website. "The"
Former Cowboys WR Terrell Owens closer to playing football again in Dallas area
"After three tumultuous seasons with the Cowboys, flamboyant wide receiver Terrell Owens could soon be returning to the area to play football. No, not for the Cowboys, but for the Allen Wranglers. The Indoor Football League team extended a formal, six-figure contract offer to Owens a month ago. Talks between Wranglers owner Jon Frankel, Owens and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, have increased recently, Frankel said. Frankel said he talked to a member of Rosenhaus' agency Thursday that Owens is "significantly closer" to signing with the Wranglers' team than he was a month ago. Rosenhaus couldn't be reached for comment."
Bench warrant out for Terrell Owens' arrest
"Terrell Owens claims he wasn't trying to duck his baby's mother by not appearing at a child support hearing last month ... instead, he claims he had an obligation to attend a public workout session in the hopes of securing an NFL contract. TMZ broke the story ... a California judge issued a bench warrant for the football player's arrest for not appearing at a scheduled hearing on October 24. But T.O.'s rep tells us he tried like hell to reschedule because he had a massively publicized workout at Calabasas High School that day (below) ... but his baby's mother wouldn't cut him a break. As far as the child support payments are concerned, T.O's rep says ... "Mr. Owens pays child support"
Chicago Rush likes what it sees in Terrell Owens, makes an offer
"No NFL scouts attended free-agent receiver Terrell Owens' workout Tuesday in Calabasas, Calif., but that doesn't mean one coach wasn't watching the televised event hoping to add the 37-year-old to his receiving corps. No NFL teams have offered Owens — who had surgery on his left knee in early April to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament — a contract, but the Arena Football League's Rush has. The team faxed a contract offer Wednesday to Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus. ''Watching him work out [Tuesday], you can still see he has the passion to play,'' McMillen told the Sun-Times. ''He wouldn't do this if he didn't care about playing."
Rosenhaus: T.O. 'ready to rock' after being medically cleared
"Terrell Owens has been medically cleared by his doctors to return to football, the free-agent wide receiver's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Wednesday. Owens, 37, had surgery in April to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Rosenhaus said a plan is being formulated for Owens, who has been training in California, to hold private workouts for individual teams or to have an open workout for media and teams. Though Rosenhaus wouldn't specify where, the trainer for Carson Palmer told me that Owens had been catching passes and working out with the new Oakland Raiders quarterback at Athletes Performance Inc., in Los Angeles."
Terrell Owens Rushed to L.A. Hospital, Cops Called
"NFL star Terrell Owens was hospitalized in L.A. last week -- after someone called 911 to report a medical emergency at an apartment where the football player had been staying ... TMZ has learned. An ambulance was sent to the apartment at 11:02 PM Thursday night -- and police arrived soon after. Officials are not disclosing the nature of the emergency -- or explaining why cops were called to the scene."
Stars must learn to say good-bye
"Injured Terrell Owens, hanging on, tried to play a joke on the media last week. He faked his retirement announcement on TV, then high-fived the family members he had there as props. It wasn't very funny. It was kind of sad, actually. Not because he craved an attention that shrinks by the day — that happens very fast in the cruel ecosystem where he got his fame and infamy, the spotlight going from bright to dark faster than he ever ran — but because Owens still seems to think he has some control over how this all ends. Gary Sheffield vanished from one day to the next, unwanted for the first time in his career, the announcement before his formal one simply being a phone that stopped ringing."
Owens not retiring type, plans to play this year and next year
"Terrell Owens still plans to play in the NFL this season. And next season, too. The 37-year-old free agent told ESPN on Wednesday that he would be ready to play in "a month or less" after having surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament in April. Owens, who had 983 receiving yards and nine touchdowns for the Cincinnati Bengals last season, told the network that he would "be even better next year.""
Bengals enjoy peace and quiet without Ochocinco, Owens
"No names were dropped but it wasn't too hard to figure out who running back Cedric Benson and left tackle Andrew Whitworth had in mind when asked Wednesday about some of the differences between last year's offense and this year's version. It might be only one game into the season, but the absence of high-profile wide receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens on the team doesn't bother Benson or Whitworth. "Sad to say, as much as I love you guys (media), sometimes stars are born from y'all, not necessarily success on the football field," he said. "Some guys run their mouths a lot or say a lot of things so they get a lot of attention. It doesn't mean they always play football the way it is"
Just what you don't need: Career advice from T.O.
"Yeah, that was some sound advice from Terrell Owens. I mean when it comes to career choices, he's just the guy I want to consult. And then I'd do exactly the opposite. Owens could've been a hero in Philadelphia following Super Bowl XXXIX and might've found a home, except he followed some bad advice -- his own. He sulked and steamed and eventually boiled over when he was looking for a new contract in 2005 -- becoming so much of a distraction that coach Andy Reid did what he should have done. He got rid of him. First, he suspended him. Then, he sat him down for the season. Finally, he just dumped him."
T.O. 'ahead of schedule' in rehab; hopes to play this season
"WR Terrell Owens is still a free agent without a team, but said earlier this week he's ahead of schedule in his rehab from knee surgery, and hopes to be playing at some point this season. Owens told espn.com that doctors told him the rehabilitation timetable for surgery to repair a torn ACL was six to eight months and up to a year. "Obviously they gave someone of my caliber a four- to six-month window. Four months is very ambitious, and that's where I'm at now: four months and four or five days out from surgery," Owens said following a workout earlier this week."
T.O. moves closer to 100 percent
"Unlike receiver Randy Moss, receiver Terrell Owens has not retired. But T.O. has been forgotten in the two-week free-agent free-for-all. Owens, who tore an ACL in the offseason (possibly while filming his latest reality show), continues to rehab. We're told that he's a couple of weeks away from returning to 100 percent. If that happens, his recovery would be nothing short of remarkable, in light of his age (37) and the normal rehab requirements for an injury of this nature. Of course, any interested teams would have the final say on whether Owens truly has reached 100 percent. And then there's the question of whether anyone will truly be interested, given his reputation for ripping"
Positive sign? Agent says T.O. plans late preseason return
"Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens probably won't sign with a team until late in the preseason, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Monday. Owens tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the spring, but he is on schedule with his rehab, according to Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus previously said Owens could be ready physically by the start of training camp. "It's something we might take our time with, later in the preseason," Rosenhaus said on NFL Network."
WR Terrell Owens pays child support in full
"Two weeks after being accused of not fully paying his $5,000 per month court-ordered child support, free agent WR Terrell Owens has ponied up. T.O. has been providing support to Melanie Paige Smith for more than four years. She filed a complaint in Fulton County (Atlanta) Superior Court when he failed to pay the full sum last month."
Terrell Owens' ACL tear happened in early April
"Florio is hosting the Dan Patrick Show Thursday, and it's chock full of NFL guests as you may expect. (Since Florio doesn't follow other sports.) The first guest was agent Drew Rosenhaus, who tried to clear up misconceptions about the torn ACL of Terrell Owens. "Well, he DID have a torn ACL," Rosenhaus said. "It's repaired now.""
Terrell Owens Planning Sitcom
"NFL and reality TV star Terrell Owens is planning his next move — starring in a sitcom based on his life called "8 & 1? whenever he waves goodbye to his playing career. The former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver tells The Daily that he's shopping around a TV show in which he would star "opposite actors inspired by his real-life baby mamas and kids." Owens, who wore #81, tells The Daily: "It's loosely based on my life and my career. I have four kids by three different moms… It will showcase my skills as an actor, which is something I want to do after football." How soon "after football" comes for Owens is unclear. The 37-year-old athlete had surgery in April to repair a torn anterior"
Woman accuses Terrell Owens of owing her child support
"An Atlanta woman has accused NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens of failing to pay $5,000 in child support per month. According to the Associated Press, the mother of Owens' child placed a court filing asking the court to hold him in contempt. Her name is Melanie Paige Smith, and her attorney, Randall Kessler, said that Owens' financial advisers told the woman that Owens has decided to not pay the full amount."
Drama-filled Owens is good for the NFL
"Terrell Owens will be fully recovered from April ACL surgery, or at least that's what his agent, Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN on Tuesday. Of course, Rosenhaus once stood in T.O.'s driveway during one of Owens' dustups with the Philadelphia Eagles and shouted "next question!" to nearly every question. And please don't confuse this with the time Owens addressed the media in his driveway while doing sit-ups without a shirt. Or the time Owens had to hold a news conference because a police report suggested he may have attempted suicide even though he hadn't. So, really, who knows what the future holds for the 36-year-old wide receiver. He may be back with the Cincinnati Bengals next season. He may"
Terrell Owens recovering from knee surgery; NFL career not over
"Terrell Owens, 37, is recovering from left knee surgery and plans to be ready to play when the NFL season starts. Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed Tuesday that the star receiver tore his anterior cruciate ligament, had surgery in early April and "will be playing at the start of the NFL season." In an interview with ESPN, Rosenhaus called speculation that Owens was considering retirement "nonsense" and said the 15-year veteran is doing "fantastic" and could be recovered as early as August. Rosenhaus said Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery to the same knee in which Owens tore his meniscus late last year. "The old injury has been repaired," Rosenhaus said. "He is many months into"
League would be just fine without Owens
"There are many great things about Terrell Owens, from his athletic ability to his sense of theater. As a football player, however, Owens has never reached the essence of excellence. At this point, he'll probably never get there. The debate over whether Owens will return this season after quietly having ACL surgery in April is largely irrelevant. Sure, some desperate team might take a chance on Owens, particularly as that yet-to-be-determined organization sorts through all its options once the lockout ends. But in Hollywood terms, Owens has become that once-fascinating star who has faded into "special guest star status." He's like Shannen Doherty or Christian Slater or all those has-beens"
Agent: Terrell Owens not retiring
"The agent for Terrell Owens confirmed Tuesday that the receiver had surgery to repair a torn ACL this offseason but said his client will be ready for the 2011 season and is not considering retirement. Agent Drew Rosenhaus called into ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Tuesday to clarify the reports on Owens' injury and said the receiver had the surgery in April and will be ready to hit the football field in August. "He's many, many months into his recovery now. He's doing fantastic," Rosenhaus told ESPN. He said Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery on Owens, was confident the 37-year-old receiver had a chance to play as soon as August. Rosenhaus called speculation that Owens was"
Aging Owens faces 'damaged goods' tag in wake of surgery
"Terrell Owens, an exceptional and polarizing player who loves the spotlight, might be ending his career in unceremonious darkness. As originally reported by ESPN and confirmed by NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, the flamboyant and productive wide receiver recently had surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. While ESPN's report states that Owens, a diligent caretaker of his body, could be back to operable health by November, it typically takes more than a year for any athlete to be fully functional after such a procedure. Owens is 37. The road back gets even tougher when fighting an undefeated opponent -- age. Owens wasn't going to be in high demand as things stand."
Houshmandzadeh on T.O. ACL tear: "I've know about that for months, I wouldn't count him out"
"Veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens' torn anterior cruciate ligament wasn't exactly a secret in NFL circles with players. "It's crazy, I've known about that for months," wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh told National Football Post. "I didn't pry into his business. Hopefully, it's not too severe and he'll be back soon. He had a good year last year. I wouldn't ever count him out." Last year, Owens caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns for the Cincinnati Bengals."
With a torn ACL, is this the end for Terrell Owens?
"Here is the problem with the Terrell Owens discussion right now: time. Move past the scheduled rehab that many players have gone through (including myself) after blowing out an ACL and focus on the expected production. Because it is that production—or lack thereof—that might signal the end of a great run for T.O. in the NFL. I have no doubt that Owens can work through rehab, get back his flexibility in the knee, focus on his strengthening and then finally translate to drills on the field. That is a part of the process for getting a knee back to game speed in the training room."
Report: T.O. tears ACL, could return in November
"One thing that Terrell Owens prided himself on was staying healthy. Now, he has his second injury in six months. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported Sunday night that Owens suffered an ACL tear in one of his knees which is sure to sideline him for the upcoming season. The report said that Owens suffered the injury either while filming his VH1 show, which will debut for a third season next month, or during a workout. Even after having surgery within the past month and with aggressive rehab, the soonest he could return is November. Owens led the Bengals in receptions (72), yards (983) and touchdowns (9) last season in what will undoubtedly be his only season in Cincinnati. Owens had 55"
Players may be disciplined for gaming investment
"Wide receiver Terrell Owens(notes) is one of at least 25 NFL players who could be forced to divest and face discipline from the league in connection with an Alabama bingo and entertainment operation that is hoping to re-open late this month or in July. Under the NFL's rules barring an employee's association with any gaming operation, Owens and other current players such as fellow wide receivers Santana Moss(notes) and Santonio Holmes(notes), defensive tackle Gerard Warren(notes) and linebacker Adalius Thomas(notes), could be forced to cease involvement. Owens did not respond to a phone call and email seeking comment. Other players could not be reached for comment through their agents."
T.O, Ochocinco not expected back in Bengals uniform
"It's no secret in NFL circles that the Cincinnati Bengals had a tough locker room situation last year in terms of chemistry disrupted by the dual disruptive presence of wide receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens. Owens won't be back, and Ochocinco appears to be on thin ice. During a radio interview on Sirius XM, Bengals defensive tackle Tank Johnson acknowledged the chemistry problems. Johnson said that Ochocinco and Owens were too much to handle for a "humble team." While not blaming Ochoncinco and Owens for doing their respective reality shows, Johnson said the entire team wasn't ready for their high-profile presence and believes it affected the team because they were uneasy around"
Terrell Owens claims ex-employee stole more than $27,000 for rent
"Former Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens may have millions of dollars in his bank account, but that apparently didn't stop him from noticing that $27,000 was missing from his Bank of America account. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution pointed out , Owens has accused for employee Antonio Edwards of pulling money from his account each month to pay for the more than $2,100 a month apartment that Edwards was renting. As the article noted, the rental company, Two Post Properties, turned over records that showed Edwards was making payments each month via the company's payment portal, and that a confirmation e-mail was being sent to the accused each month. Owens claimed he never gave Edwards"
Former employee accused of stealing from T.O. to pay rent
"A former employee of Terrell Owens' has been charged in Atlanta with stealing nearly $30,000 from the Cincinnati Bengals star, accused of using a bank account belonging to the wide receiver to pay rent on a $2,000-a-month apartment in the city's tony Buckhead neighborhood, WSB-TV reported Friday. Antonio Edwards was charged with felony theft by deception in 13 warrants issued May 13 by a Fulton County judge. Police documents allege that Edwards used Owens' account, via an online system, to pay rent for more than a year at the Port Alexander Apartment Complex. Owens made $2 million in base salary last season, his first with the Bengals. He'll be a free agent once the NFL lockout ends."
Bengals D-Linemen Tank Johnson: Chad, T.O. were too much
"Things are really slow when a simple little radio interview becomes a blog post, but I will take that over talking about the NFL Lockout. Bengals DT Tank Johnson appeared on Sirius NFL Radio's Late Hits with Bryan McGorvern and Solomon Wilcots Thursday night. Tank was asked a bunch of questions and he was pretty honest with his answers, as usual. The hosts started off by asking Tank about Carson Palmer's trade requests, can the Bengals D carry the team while the offense comes together, and why the 2010 team failed to live up to the hype. Tank said he was surprised at Carson's trade request, but agreed with RB Cedric Benson, when he said that bringing Carson back isn't good for the team."
T.O.: Something 'not right' with Bengals
"Terrell Owens – in Los Angeles for NBA All-Star Weekend festivities – made an appearance Friday on "NFL Total Access," and he continues to be outspoken about the Bengals' dysfunction as an organization. And here is some of what T.O. had to say: "What a lot of people really don't think and really don't understand about this situation with Carson asking to be out of there (is) he's saying something without really saying something," Owens said. "That's what a lot of people should read (into)," Owens explained. "There is a line that needs to be read in there. He knows that there's some things within that organization that just aren't right. Obviously Chad (Ochocinco) tried to get out of there"
T.O., Ocho offer services to Rex's Jets
"Rex Ryan wants both Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards back next season but the Jets head coach doesn't know "how feasible it's going to be" to re-sign both wide receivers. If the Jets can't bring the pair back, Ryan apparently can have a new dynamic duo. Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco –- who like to call themselves Batman and Robin –- said they would love to play for Rex and be Jets on their reality show "The T. Ocho Show." It's probably an unlikely scenario but that didn't stop Ocho and T.O. from talking about it."
Terrell Owens approves of Jets, Rex Ryan speaking their minds during NFL playoffs
"Maybe Rex Ryan should have made this week's showdown with the Steelers "personal" too. The Jets have emerged as the league's preeminent trash-talking team. And according to the NFL's biggest mouth, Terrell Owens, that's far from a bad thing. "I think this is the stage (of the season) where if you're going to speak your mind, this is the best time to do it," said Owens, who sat courtside at Monday's Knicks-Suns game at the Garden. "But if you're going to speak your mind, you definitely have to back it up." Owens called the win over the Pats "very surprising from the whole world's perspective," but he said Ryan's blustery manner may have helped keep the spotlight off most of his players."
Bradford to T.O.? Owens 'would love it'
"It started simply this afternoon with a question to soon-to-be free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens via Twitter: "How'd you like to be catching passes from Sam Bradford next season?" Within minutes the response from Owens came back: "Would love it." So what's the holdup? The Rams desperately need some play-making wide receivers. Owens is available. However, Owens also was available late into free agency last season and the Rams decided to take a pass. He ended up signing a one-year deal with a $2 million base salary at the start of training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals - one of the few teams interested. Owens responded with nine touchdowns and 983 yards on 72 catches in 14 games,"
Terrell Owens showed 'I can still play'
"Four days after having season-ending surgery, Terrell Owens was back in the Bengals locker room as he continued his rehab while also pondering his future. Owens said he has been in town for a couple days since he had surgery in Birmingham, Ala., to repair a torn meniscus. Owens said he expects to be full-go by the end of January, and said he will remain in Cincinnati until the middle of next week. Owens said he planned to attend the Bengals' home finale on Sunday against San Diego and would also be on Tuesday's T.Ocho Show on Versus. He missed last week's episode after the surgery. Owens said that he should be ready to join a team's offseason conditioning program whenever that would begin,"
Source: Terrell Owens done in Cincy
"The Cincinnati Bengals are not expected to re-sign outspoken receiver Terrell Owens, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Owens decided to have knee surgery Monday, ending his revival season in Cincinnati. The 37-year-old receiver tore cartilage in his left knee two weeks ago, but kept playing. He aggravated the injury while making a cut on the opening series of the 19-17 win Sunday against Cleveland, forcing him to hobble off the field."
Terrell Owens has knee surgery
"Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens, according to his own Twitter account, traveled to Birmingham, Ala., Monday and had surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews to repair torn meniscus cartilage in his left knee. Owens left Sunday's 19-17 win against Cleveland after the Bengals' sixth play of the game, hobbling as he headed to the sideline. Coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that Owens' season was finished, although the Bengals had not made an official roster move. Owens ends the season with team-leading totals of 72 catches for 983 yards and nine touchdowns. He said Sunday that he originally injured the knee against New Orleans Dec. 5 but played the last two games. Third-year receivers Andre"
Terrell Owens' season ended by knee injury
"Add Terrell Owens to the long list of Bengals players who have seen their season end early due to injury. Owens suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee early in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Browns and said he is out for the team's final two games. If Owens is placed on injured reserve, he would be the 16th Bengal placed on it and it would mark the first time in his 17-year career that has happened. "It's just one of those things," said Owens, who was walking on crutches in a mostly empty locker room after the game. Owens originally suffered the injury two weeks ago against New Orleans and didn't practice the Wednesday leading into the Pittsburgh game. Last week he didn't practice on"
Owens: Everyone's to blame
"As the losses have mounted for the Bengals, Terrell Owens' frustration level has increased. And, it was only natural that the comments he made on The T.Ocho Show on Tuesday would generate lots of opinions. After saying during the show that the 2-11 club was "underachieving from the top down," Owens clarified his remarks, reiterating that everyone was to blame. "That's not the first time in my career where either I or anybody has said it starts from the top down or players have felt like our coaches have gotten outcoached," Owens said. "So, it's just not here. I have said that elsewhere." When asked how far to the top blame should go, Owens said he was trying to make a general statement."
Owens, Lewis address show comments
"With the comments from last night's T.Ocho Show still fresh on everyone's mind, Terrell Owens and coach Marvin Lewis addressed the fallout. Owens said he realized that it was going to create headlines when he said the 2-11 Bengals were "underachieving from the top down" but reiterated that everyone was to blame. "I pointed out or mentioned that is started from the top down. That includes layers, so, it's not like I was singling anyone out," he said. "That's not the first time in my career where either I or anybody has said it starts from the top down or players have felt like our coaches have gotten outcoached or what have you. So, it's just not here. I have said that elsewhere." When"
TO on 2-11: "There is underachieving from the top down"
"Since the loss to Buffalo on Nov. 21, Terrell Owens has increasingly voiced his frustration about the team's losing streak (now at 10) and record (now 2-11). After the 23-7 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday, Owens didn't have much in the way of answers saying: "I've been here 9-10 games straight and you guys are asking the same questions. I have no answers." He did have some answers on The T.Ocho Show on Versus. Wearing a T-shirt that read "I love keeping it real", Owens started out by saying: "For us to be 2-11 at this time in time, yeah my frustration is at an all-time high. I pretty much have been quiet all year but the fact I was brought in here to help get this team to the playoffs and for"
Terrell Owens tees off after latest Bengals' loss
"Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens came to Cincinnati with a reputation for being one of the NFL's most outspoken players. He was outspoken Sunday following the team's ninth consecutive loss, a 34-30 defeat against New Orleans at Paul Brown Stadium. Owens voiced his frustration over the offensive inconsistencies that have plagued the Bengals throughout the season and what he believes is a lack of aggressiveness in the play-calling. "I just think that, coming here this year, with the opportunities that presented themselves with myself and Chad (Ochocinco), the progression of Jordan Shipley and Gresh (Jermaine Gresham), we could be a little more aggressive," said Owens. "That's what I've"
Will Terrell Owens return to Bengals?
"With Terrell Owens closing in on his 10th 1,000-yard season and the Bengals eliminated from the playoff chase, Owens did leave open the possibility of returning to Cincinnati next year. When asked about possibly remaining with the Bengals, Owens said: "Of course. Like I said, when the opportunity presents itself and everything works out. I don't know what's going to happen after this year. I think a lot of rumors are swirling out there about everything, coaching staff and I don't know. I let all that stuff kind of play itself out. My agent and I will get together after the season and see how it goes." Owens, who turns 37 on Thursday, had only one serious suitor this past offseason, the"
TO, Revis trade compliments and barbs
"In the third edition of that individual matchup known as Terrell Owens vs. Darrelle Revis, the judges would have to score another decision for Revis. In Thursday night's 26-10 win by the Jets over the Bengals, Owens had just three receptions for 17 yards. Including the two games where Owens faced off against Revis last year when Owens was in Buffalo, Owens has just 63 yards on nine receptions over the past two seasons. The three receptions ties a season low (Owens had three receptions in Week 2 against Baltimore and last week against Buffalo) but the 17 yards are a season low (it was 42 yards in the Week 3 win over Carolina). "He can still play, he can still make the plays. He just didn't"
Terrell Owens reaches out to 6-year-old
"Terrell Owens parlayed his NFL resurgence into an off-the-field cause this week, helping to lift the spirits of a young boy in need. Owens reached out to 6-year-old Josiah Viera with a heartfelt e-mail and a package that included a jersey and his eighth touchdown ball of the season. Viera suffers from an rare genetic disease called Progeria. "Josiah's face lit up like a Christmas tree as I handed him the football and said this is from Sunday's game," said Josiah's mother, Jennifer. "He gave me the biggest smile as I read what T.O. had wrote on the ball and jersey.""
Ochocinco-T.O. pairing fizzles with Bengals
"If one truism from the Terrell Owens-Chad Ochocinco pairing has been confirmed this season, it's that hype in this overhyped age doesn't always equal results. Oh, and it helps to have a quarterback who isn't regressing and a coach who doesn't have one foot out the door. Bringing together two aging, prima-donna wide receivers -- both of them with their own reality-TV shows -- hasn't produced anywhere near the fireworks or drama that so many observers expected this season. Unfortunately for the Bengals, who come to the Meadowlands tonight to face the cardiac Jets, "T-Ocho" hasn't produced much success, either. The much-anticipated combination has been such a dud, in fact, that 2-8 Cincinnati"
Terrell Owens dubs Jets' Darrelle Revis 'just an average corner'
"In 2007, Terrell Owens said he didn't know who then-rookie Darrelle Revis was. This year, he knows, but he made clear he wasn't impressed with the Jets cornerback. "Just an average corner to me," the Bengals receiver said of Revis today, in advance of their Thanksgiving night match-up Revis has said he expects to be matched up on Owens, who has 897 receiving yards and eight touchdowns this season, while teammate Antonio Cromartie will take Chad Ochocinco. Revis fared well last season against Owens, then with Buffalo, holding him to three catches in each of two games. Owens said his production was a result of being "not really involved in the offense," but he has made mental notes of how"
Darrelle Revis will be facing resurgent Terrell Owens
"As Darrelle Revis lined up across from Patrick Turner during Monday's walk-through, speculation about which Bengals receiver he would cover on Thursday quickly subsided. Turner threw on a white practice jersey with the No. 81 on it in red. It's the number worn by Terrell Owens. "I will be on him come Thursday night, and I think it will be a good matchup," Revis said. "I think it will be a good matchup with (Antonio Cromartie) and Chad (Ochocinco), too. They've got two great receivers, and we've got two great corners as well." Though Revis has a more contentious history with the man on the opposite side of the field, barking back and forth with Ochocinco throughout a first-round playoff"
'Joker' has the last laugh for Bills
"Knowing that Cincinnati wide receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco have dubbed themselves Batman and Robin, Buffalo Bills wideout Stevie Johnson came up with a clever way to counter the Bengals' dynamic duo. After scoring a touchdown in the third quarter Sunday, Johnson lifted his jersey to reveal a T-shirt that read, "Why So Serious." If you're a movie buff, you would know that line came from Batman's arch-nemesis, the Joker, in "The Dark Knight." "It was something fun," Johnson said. "They play the Batman and Robin thing, so I wanted to come in and have the persona of the Joker and just have fun with it. I'm going to get in trouble for it, though." Indeed, Johnson was informed that"
