Stephane Robidas News & Rumors

Stars' Stephane Robidas returns from foot injury; Sheldon Souray still seven to 10 day from return
"Stephane Robidas returned from missing six games with a foot injury. Robidas had missed one game in the two previous seasons. "It's tough on me, because I like to get in the routine and play," Robidas said. "It's exciting to be back. There's something about waking up and knowing it's a game day. You get in your routine, and you just know it's going to be special.""
Stars' Robidas skates and looks ready
"Stephane Robidas has missed six games with a foot injury, but he has skated the last three days and looked particularly good at practice today. He will travel with the team today and could be activated from IR this afternoon. If he is, then Brenden Dillon would probably be sent back to the minors."
With age creeping up, Stephane Robidas may carry lighter load soon
"Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas might be the hardest working man in hockey. Despite leading the Stars in average time on ice for the past three seasons, Robidas also is typically the first person on the practice ice and one of the last off of it. He almost never takes an ``optional'' practice off and he rarely skips workouts in the summer. He says it's because he had to work so hard to get to the NHL. ``That's just what I'm used to,'' he said. ``I really went so long where I felt I had to prove myself every game, every practice, that's just what I'm comfortable with now. I like skating, I like practice, I like hockey. I want to be out there as much as I can.''"
Lehtonen to return to play Thursday; Souray, Robidas out for 10-14 days
"As expected today, Andrew Raycroft was placed on waivers and Kari Lehtonen has been named the starter for Thursday's game against Columbus. Lehtonen has been out since injuring his groin Nov. 26 against Phoenix and has missed the past 12 games. He has a 13-4-1 record with a 2.34 GAA and .926 save percentage. ``Lehts is ready to go, so he'll get the start,'' Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. ``I think it's the right time to do this, and he's ready.''"
Stars' Robidas sits out second straight game with foot injury
"Stephane Robidas sat his second game with a foot injury. Robidas was hit in practice with a shot and has had soreness when trying to skate. He could be available for Monday's game at St. Louis, Gulutzan said. The Stars put defenseman Philip Larsen (thigh contusion) back into the lineup, but also kept defenseman Adam Pardy in the lineup. By going with seven defensemen, Gulutzan said the team could protect itself and also get more ice time for some key forwards."
Robidas questionable for tonight
"Stephane Robidas took a puck on the skate in practice on Tuesday, and he is listed as questionable for tonight's game. He skated this morning, and looked fine, but he is listed as a game-time decision. That could determine who plays on the fourth line. Petersen could take power play time left by Robidas if he is not in the lineup, and also could be a back-up defenseman if he is in the lineup."
Stars defenseman Robidas plays to skate, win
"The great thing about Stephane Robidas is that he cares so much that he doesn't care. He doesn't care if people call him a No. 1 defenseman. He doesn't care if outsiders say the Dallas Stars' defense is the weak link of the team. He doesn't care if awards come his way. All he cares about is helping the Stars win games. And it shows every day in just about everything he does. "He's our leading point-getter among defensemen and in the top 30 in the league, and he's done that without the benefit of being the No. 1 guy among defensemen on the power play this year," coach Marc Crawford said. "Six defensemen on 30 teams, that's 180 defensemen. He'd have to be in the top 30. So he's a No. 1. In"
Stars' Stephane Robidas suspended
"Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas has been automatically suspended one game for being assessed his second game misconduct within 41 games in the boarding/checking-from-behind category. As a result, Robidas will miss Thursday's contest against the Los Angeles Kings. Robidas was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Tuesday night after a hit on Anaheim's Matt Belesky in the third period."
