Sam Bradford News & Rumors

Sam Bradford tweaks contract with St. Louis Rams
"Earlier this month, St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford made a slight adjustment to his contract, a source with knowledge of situation confirmed. Bradford was scheduled to earn $12 million in fully guaranteed base salary with a $15.595 million cap number in 2012, the third season of a six-year, $78 million contract he signed as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Bradford will still earn $12 million and his $15.595 million cap number for 2012 is unchanged, but the two sides have changed how the $12 million will be delivered. As part of a renegotiation from May 9, half of the $12 million in base salary was converted to a roster bonus that was paid on May 11. The remaining $6"
Back to school for Bradford
"Quarterback Sam Bradford is about as comfortable as can be for a guy coming off a serious ankle injury and learning his third NFL offense in as many seasons. After five days of organized team activities, known as OTAs, coach Jeff Fisher estimated that he had installed roughly 70 percent of the offense. "It's getting better every day," Bradford said, flashing a resigned smile. "I've gone through this process a couple times now, so I kind of know how to handle it. We come out, we put in a bunch of new stuff today. It seems like we do that every day. Just try to get better with it. When we come back to review it, hopefully we've had a couple looks at it by then and we're able to handle all"
Sam Bradford's ankle still in recovery mode for Rams
"In trading out of the opportunity to grab former Baylor star Robert Griffin III in the 2012 draft, the St. Louis Rams definitively showed their faith in quarterback Sam Bradford. Bradford -- the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft -- excelled as a first-year starter, winning Rookie of the Year honors while nearly leading the Rams back to the postseason. In his second year, the quarterback suffered a high ankle sprain in a Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers and was never the same. He missed six games, and looked uncomfortable when he attempted to return to the field. Taking part in organized team activities this week, Bradford said the ankle remains a work in progress."
Bradford starting over again
"Quarterback Sam Bradford is learning his third offense in three NFL seasons — from his third coordinator, no less. But at first blush, the transition may be easier than expected. "I like the offense that we're running this year," Bradford said Tuesday. "It's more similar to two years ago than to last year. There is some carryover, so I am somewhat familiar with it, which makes it nice trying to learn it again." Bradford, speaking after the Rams' first minicamp practice of the spring, said there are even some similarities in the language and play-calling from his rookie season of 2010, when Pat Shurmur was offensive coordinator. There is another similarity to 2010, when Bradford was NFL"
Bradford looks forward to better protection
"New Rams coach Jeff Fisher uttered two statements Tuesday that were music to the ears of quarterback Sam Bradford. First, Fisher reiterated in his introductory news conference the two factors he sought when he began to explore job opportunities for the coming season: "One was a good owner, the other was a quarterback." A meeting Jan. 5 with owner Stan Kroenke satisfied the first. A meeting with Bradford a few days later seems to have gone just as well, though Bradford said that unlike Kroenke, he wasn't in recruiting mode. "I really tried to be myself," he said. "I wouldn't be anything other than how I am. I didn't want to give him a false impression of who I was. It was a time for us to"
Source: Jeff Fisher, Sam Bradford meet
"Jeff Fisher is spending Sunday touring the St. Louis Rams' training facility and meeting with quarterback Sam Bradford, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Fisher is expected to choose between head coaching openings in St. Louis and with the Miami Dolphins this week. Fisher told Schefter on Friday he is considering coaching next season in only those two places. Fisher interviewed with the Dolphins earlier last week and first met with the Rams on Thursday."
It's Clemens again as Bradford sits
"Sam Bradford's second NFL season ended Sunday on the Rams' pregame inactive list. It's the third week in a row, and the sixth time this season, that Bradford has been scratched because of a left high ankle sprain. Backup A.J. Feeley, his fractured thumb still swollen and unable to fully grip a football, also was among the Rams' pregame inactives for San Francisco. Feeley has missed four games in a row with the injury on his throwing hand."
49ers' Smith can relate to Bradford's ordeal
"San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith can feel Sam Bradford's pain. Smith has been the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. He has taken the helm of losing football teams and taken the physical and emotional beatings that come with that unpleasant assignment. He adapted to new offensive coordinators, overcame injuries and played from behind year after year. He has withstood media ridicule and withering fan criticism. Smith has had to carry the "draft bust" label like a yoke around his neck. So he is uniquely qualified to comment on Bradford's young career. "Yeah, it's tough," Smith said during his Wednesday conference call with the St. Louis media. "No one understands that at the"
Bradford remains on the sidelines
"Rams quarterback Sam Bradford looked better in one sense Wednesday. He shaved his shaggy beard while cleaning up for a commercial shoot. But his left ankle remained a mess. Bradford tested the sprained joint with individual drills Monday and Tuesday and didn't gain medical clearance to rejoin practice. "It's still not where I think our training staff would like it to be," Bradford said. "We still got five days. So hopefully within those five days we can keep going and hopefully make some strides." He has done little healing since aggravating the high ankle sprain during a 30-13 loss at Seattle. "This week is really the first time we've done much," Bradford said. "To be honest, it didn't"
Bradford doubtful — very doubtful — for Steelers
"Despite Sam Bradford's desire to play on a high ankle sprain, to no one's surprise it looks like Kellen Clemens will make his second consecutive start at quarterback when the Rams play Saturday in Pittsburgh. Bradford did not practice again on Thursday, and coach Steve Spagnuolo said it's unlikely Bradford will test the ankle during Friday's walk-through before leaving for Pittsburgh. "Obviously, his status will be doubtful," Spagnuolo said following Thursday's practice at Rams Park. "Now, he might come in and grab me by the throat and threaten to play, but I don't think he'll do that." Clemens once again worked with the starting offense in practice. A.J. Feeley (thumb) didn't practice and"
No change in Bradford's status
"The good news from Rams Park on Wednesday was that none of the injured players regressed and no one was added to the injury report. The bad news: neither quarterbacks Sam Bradford (ankle) nor A.J. Feeley (thumb) practiced, nor did defensive end Chris Long (ankle), Josh Gordy (Oblique) and cornerback Justin King (shoulder). Instead of getting treatment, though, Bradford watched the bulk of practice. If Bradford can't get in at least some reps Thursday, Kellen Clemens probably will get his second successive start Saturday, when the Rams face the Pittsburgh Steelers."
Bradford eager to return, but ...
"Should Sam Bradford shut it down? On the subject of Bradford's injured left ankle, the debate continues on the Internet forums and chat rooms, on talk radio, and in print. After Bradford's latest setback with the ankle in the Dec. 12 Monday night game in Seattle, the overriding sentiment seems to be that the Rams' quarterback should put the ankle in mothballs — or at least ice — for the rest of the season. But Bradford's opinion on the topic hasn't changed, and he was as adamant as ever during a Tuesday media session. He wants to play. "Absolutely," Bradford said. "I've said that now for the past two weeks. I've told Coach (Steve Spagnuolo) that I'm trying to get my ankle as healthy as"
Rams likely to shut Bradford down, still see him as their future
"The bad news for Sam Bradford is that his ankle injury will sideline him today against the Bengals, and probably for the rest of the season, too — and he's had a lousy season even when he's been healthy. The good news is that the Rams still see him as their franchise quarterback. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Rams are likely to shut Bradford down for the season and stick with Kellen Clemens as the starter the rest of the way, but that the Rams still believe in Bradford as their long-term solution at quarterback. Some observers, including ESPN's Jon Gruden, have said Bradford looks so bad this year that the Rams should consider drafting a quarterback like Baylor's Heisman Trophy"
Bradford misses practice, less likely to play Sunday
"Quarterback Sam Bradford missed practice Friday and again was walking around Rams Park in a protective boot. So, barring a medical miracle being performed on his left ankle, Bradford appears unlikely to play Sunday, when the Rams host the Cincinnati Bengals. "We're about the same. It will be tough to get him to the game, but we're not giving up hope," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. Bradford was listed as doubtful on the injury report. Because of the thumb injury to A.J. Feeley, who has been ruled out Sunday, Kellen Clemens appears likely to get the start."
Bradford sits, seems more likely to miss Bengals' game
"Rams quarterback Sam Bradford again missed practice Thursday because of a nagging high ankle sprain. Given that he appeared in a protective boot Wednesday — for the first time in a month — and has less time to recover this week from a Monday night game, his return to action Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals seems less likely than it did before he returned to the boot."
Bradford has setback with ankle
"The walking boot was back on Sam Bradford's left ankle Wednesday, and the frustration was back on his face. His nagging ankle injury just won't go away. The ankle was sore following the Rams' 30-13 Monday night loss in Seattle, and it remained sore Wednesday when Bradford was held out of practice at Rams Park. Bradford said there wasn't a specific play against the Seahawks that led to the soreness, but rather just the general wear and tear of four quarters of football. As he said last week, Bradford still isn't considering cutting his season short and going on the injured reserve list. But ... "I will say that it is becoming more and more frustrating to go out there and play, and then"
Bradford sore after playing on inured ankle
"The Rams expected quarterback Sam Bradford to be sore after Monday's 30-13 loss in Seattle. It comes with the territory when you're nursing a high ankle sprain. Coach Steve Spagnuolo went a step further and described Bradford as "extremely sore" and said he could be limited in practice for at least part of the week in preparation for the Cincinnati Bengals. Bradford completed just 12 of 29 pass attempts for 193 yards with an interception. Spagnuolo said he had no regrets about starting Bradford and did not consider pulling him in favor of backup Kellen Clemens. "We felt pretty comfortable with this one, and certainly (Bradford) did," Spagnuolo said. "It's hard to tell that guy not to play,"
Bradford gets limited work in practice
"After resting his injured left ankle all week, quarterback Sam Bradford went for a test spin Saturday at Rams Park. Bradford got limited work during the team's final full-scale practice before Monday night's game in Seattle but moved around fairly well. "The test here is come out, do the work, see how it feels tomorrow," coach Steve Spagnuolo said following practice. "Again, we are treading lightly and going safe. I can tell you this, if you could've seen the look in his eyes when I told him he wasn't going to play last week, that's hard to do. You know him. But we'll see." If Bradford's ankle feels reasonably good Sunday and Monday following Saturday's work, he will be back in the lineup"
Bradford trying to return
"With a sore ankle, the season officially a lost cause and only four games left, is it time for quarterback Sam Bradford to call it a season, get healthy and try it again in 2012? If he had his druthers, he'd avoid the injured reserve list, he said. "That hasn't entered my mind," Bradford said Thursday. "I really hope it doesn't come to that point. That'd be pretty disappointing for me. But if that's what our doctors feel is best for my long-term health, then it's an option that I would have to think about. But it's really something that ... I don't want to think about that." The only thing on Bradford's mind now is getting his left ankle as healthy as possible and returning to action"
Setback with ankle sidelines Bradford
"Quarterback Sam Bradford isn't back to square one after aggravating his left ankle injury a week ago against Arizona, but he's pretty close to it. "It's definitely gone back to the first couple weeks after the injury," Bradford said Sunday, after sitting out the Rams' 26-0 loss to San Francisco. "I knew I had hurt it (against Arizona), but I didn't know how bad. I think going through Wednesday's practice I realized how severely I tweaked it again." Bradford barely practiced Wednesday and Friday last week and didn't practice at all Thursday. He did take part in couple of plays during Saturday's walk-through but was walking with a limp all week, including Sunday morning when he got onto the"
Bradford tweaks ankle; Feeley may start Sunday
"Here we go again — the Rams' quarterback carousel is spinning once more. After not practicing Thursday, Sam Bradford got very limited work Friday, casting doubt on his availability to play Sunday against San Francisco. Bradford, still walking with a slight limp, did some work early Friday but then gave way to backup A.J. Feeley less than halfway through practice. "He was very limited," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "Didn't do much at all. He's still a little sore. So we'll see where we are (Saturday), and as always, this will be a day-to-day deal." Bradford missed two games in October because of a left high ankle sprain suffered on the Rams' last offensive play Oct. 16 against Green Bay. He"
Bradford tweaks ankle, status for Sunday uncertain
"Another day, another new injury twist at Rams Park. After being limited in Wednesday's practice because of soreness in his left ankle, quarterback Sam Bradford was held out of practice entirely Thursday. It's the same high ankle sprain that kept Bradford out of the Dallas and New Orleans games in late October. Bradford has since played in four games but aggravated the injury this past Sunday against Arizona. "When he came in this morning, it went backwards a little bit," coach Steve Spagnuolo said after Thursday's practice. "So in an effort to get it 'forward,' we just kind of shut him down." Spagnuolo declined to gauge Bradford's status for Sunday's game in San Francisco. "I'm not going"
Ankles keep Bradford, Long out of practice
"After being limited in practice Wednesday, quarterback Sam Bradford's "aggravated" left ankle was sore enough that he did not practice Thursday at Rams Park. Bradford watched part of practice, then went in for treatment walking with a slight limp. It's the same high ankle injury that caused Bradford to miss the Dallas and New Orleans games in October. After practice, coach Steve Spagnuolo sounded neither optimistic nor pessimistic about Bradford's status for Sunday's game in San Francisco. "His ankle, I told you, it was aggravated in the game," Spagnuolo said. "He came out here (Wednesday) and was limited, and when he came in this morning, it went backwards a little bit. So in an effort to"
Bradford limited in practice
"Quarterback Sam Bradford was limited to about half the work in practice Wednesday, the first day of preparation for the Rams' game Sunday versus the 49ers in San Francisco. In the loss to Arizona on Sunday, Bradford tweaked the ankle that he injured Oct. 16 that forced him to miss two games. "The ankle is still kind of bothering him," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "We don't want it to go backwards.""
Bradford is having a bumpy sophomore season
"Sam Bradford isn't used to losing. He's used to lighting up defenses and scoreboards. But here in his second season as Rams quarterback, Bradford enters Game 10 with just four touchdown passes and a 55.3 percent completion percentage. The Rams are last in the NFL in points scored (113), and 38 of those points came in two games that backup A.J. Feeley started in place of the injured Bradford. Bradford has never been an excuse-maker, and when quizzed about his play Wednesday, once again he offered none. "I think my performance so far has been a little disappointing, especially from my perspective," he said. "I expect a lot out of myself. I expected to come in and have a great year, and"
Bradford increases workload
"Quarterback Sam Bradford increased his workload Thursday, sharing snaps on the first unit with A.J. Feeley in preparation for Sunday's game in Cleveland against the Browns. Coach Steve Spagnuolo declared Bradford's performance "pretty good. Got more reps today than he did yesterday and certainly more than he had last Thrusday. And yet, we try not to give them all to him because the more you put on him, then you're going backwards a little bit. I think he's progressing pretty good. He's a tough guy." Defensive tackle Darell Scott also increased his workload in his rehab from a concussion suffered October 23. After participating in conditioning drills Wednesday, Scott was cleared for"
Rams must wait and see on Bradford
"The Rams must play a waiting game to evaluate whether — or how far — Sam Bradford set his ankle back in Sunday's 19-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Bradford was wearing a boot Sunday and Monday on the left ankle that he sprained Oct. 16 against Green Bay. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Bradford "just has general soreness in his ankle. I think he got through OK. The boot is precautionary, just to rest it. We'll see where we are with him on Wednesday." Bradford completed 23 of 36 passes for 255 yards and one interception. He was sacked four times. "I think our team was sparked by the fact that he was out there playing," Spagnuolo said. "I think he showed a tremendous amount of courage to go"
Bradford gets back in action
"After getting through a Friday practice and a Saturday walk-through with no ill effects on his left ankle, there was no doubt in quarterback Sam Bradford's mind that he would be playing Sunday against Arizona. "This morning I woke up, it felt great," Bradford said following Sunday's 19-13 overtime loss. "In my opinion, there really wasn't the option to be not playing today. I knew that in my mind I was going to be out there. It was just up to our coaches." Bradford completed 23 of 36 passes for 255 yards and one interception on an underthrown deep ball to Brandon Lloyd. He was also sacked four times and hit or hurried on several others. Following the game, his left foot was back in a"
Waiting game looms for Bradford
"Two weeks ago, Sam Bradford was ruled out on a Saturday. Last week, he was scratched on Friday. As for this week? Bradford and his high ankle sprain might be the textbook definition of "game-day decision." For the first time since suffering the injury to his left ankle Oct. 16, Bradford took part in a full practice. Yes, on Thursday, he did some throwing during individual drills at Rams Park but then shut it down. But on Friday, he was out there during installation periods and took part in seven-on-seven periods and 11-on-11 (or "team") work against scout team defenses. When all was said and done, Bradford basically split the practice reps with A.J. Feeley, who has started the past two"
Bradford participates in individual drills as rehab continues
"The gradual rehabilitation of Sam Bradford continues. Bradford participated in individual drills Thursday, another step forward in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain, suffered Oct. 16 against Green Bay. "Sam is trying to do stuff," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "He's standing. He threw some passes today and stood around and got most of it mentally." Spagnuolo said Bradford was "not quite there yet. We'll see what happens tomorrow." Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said Bradford "did fine. He's progressing. The work he did today was good for him. Moved around pretty good, threw the ball well. The throwing part is not really the problem, so we'll see." Backup A.J. Feeley worked with the"
Bradford participates in drills
"St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford continued his gradual recovery from a high ankle sprain, participating in seven-on-seven drills Thursday. "Sam is trying to do stuff," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "He's standing. He threw some passes today and stood around and got most of it mentally." Spagnuolo said Bradford was "not quite there yet. See what happens tomorrow." Backup A. J. Feeley worked with the first unit through practice."
Bradford takes 'baby steps' at Rams practice
"The walking boot was off and the practice uniform on for Sam Bradford. But that's as far as it went for the Rams quarterback Wednesday afternoon. A spin on a stationary bike on the edge of the practice fields was the extent of Bradford's activity during practice Wednesday. He was a spectator for the rest of the team's workout in preparation for Sunday's game in Arizona. "He's up and moving around a little bit," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "He got some mental reps, because he's out here watching. He's still not at the point where we can put him out there and practice — put him in danger." That is, in danger of aggravating the high-ankle sprain that has sidelined Bradford for the past two"
Bradford not ready, will sit out another practice for Rams
"The St. Louis Rams are easing Sam Bradford back from a high sprain of his left ankle, but the quarterback won't practice on Wednesday. The Arizona Republic reported Wednesday that Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo broke the news on a conference call with Arizona reporters, saying he hopes Bradford can return later in the week."
Bradford out of boot
"Quarterback Sam Bradford was out of the boot that has protected his high ankle sprain and did strengthening exercises Monday. Coach Steve Spagnuolo was uncertain, though, whether Bradford would practice Wednesday, when the Rams begin preparation for their game Sunday in Arizona against the Cardinals. "He's getting there, but you don't know with these high ankle sprains," Spagnuolo said. "We'll slowly work him in there.""
Bradford ruled out for Sunday's game
"There was no suspense or surprise this week with regard to the status of quarterback Sam Bradford and his high ankle sprain. Coach Steve Spagnuolo ruled Bradford out of Sunday's game with New Orleans following Friday's practice. "I think that's the smart way to go," Spagnuolo said. "Reggie (Scott) and Sam are being smart about it. ... He won't play in this game and then we'll see where we're at." A week ago, on the Friday before the Dallas game, Bradford tested the ankle with footwork drills and light jogging under the supervision of Scott, the Rams' head athletic trainer. But the ankle was sore the next morning, causing the team hold him out of the game. Bradford didn't even try to test"
Bradford ruled out for Saints game
"Last week on Friday, the St. Louis Rams' medical staff tested Sam Bradford's high ankle sprain with some footwork drills and light jogging to gauge his availability for the Dallas game. There was not even a test this week, with coach Steve Spagnuolo ruling out Bradford on Friday. That means A.J. Feeley starts once again at quarterback in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints at the Edward Jones Dome."
Bradford unlikely to play vs. Saints
"Play football long enough and you'll have good days and bad days. But for Sam Bradford, not playing against Dallas because of a high ankle sprain made his game-day experience downright miserable. With the Rams playing in his backyard and with lots of family members and friends in attendance at Cowboys Stadium, Bradford could only watch as the Cowboys ran roughshod over the Rams 34-7. "It was tough," Bradford said. "Obviously, I had the hope all week that I was going to get to play. So never in my mind did I really think (about) what it was going to be like on Sunday not to play." Bradford said the reality of missing an NFL game for the first time since he entered the league hit him when he"
Rams QB Bradford probably out again
"Play football long enough and you'll have good days and bad days. But for Sam Bradford, not playing against Dallas because of a high ankle sprain made his game-day experience downright miserable. With the Rams playing in his backyard and with lots of family members and friends in attendance at Cowboys Stadium, Bradford could only watch as the Cowboys ran roughshod over the Rams 34-7. "It was tough," Bradford said. "Obviously, I had the hope all week that I was going to get to play. So never in my mind did I really think (about) what it was going to be like on Sunday not to play.""
Giant step back: Bradford out for Rams
"Even in a 24-3 loss to Green Bay last week, the Rams piled up 424 yards against the defending Super Bowl champion, on the road. With quarterback Sam Bradford running a no-huddle almost exclusively at Lambeau Field, the Rams seemed on the verge of discovering their offensive identity. On Monday, reinforcements arrived for the Rams' inexperienced receiver corps, with the acquisition of 2010 NFL reception yards leader Brandon Lloyd via trade with Denver, and the news that Mark Clayton would return to practice after beginning the year on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. But these are, after all, the Rams. That means for every step forward, there always seems to be a step or two"
Bradford doesn't practice again
"For the second day in a row, backup A.J. Feeley took all the reps at quarterback for the St. Louis Rams. Once again, Sam Bradford didn't practice and didn't even venture onto the field for practice. Rams trainers want him to concentrate on rehab and stay off his high ankle sprain as much as possible. "He's got every gadget and gizmo known to America in there trying to get him healthy," coach Steve Spagnuolo said Thursday."
Bradford still hopes to play Sunday
"For Sam Bradford, Sunday's game in Dallas is as close at it gets to an NFL homecoming. He grew up in Oklahoma City, about 3½ hours north on I-35. Oklahoma is Cowboys country when it comes to pro football; always has been. But when the Rams drafted Bradford No. 1 overall in 2010, Bradford's No. 8 jersey started springing up in malls and stores throughout the Sooner state. And some of those Tony Romo No. 9 Cowboys jerseys were moved to the discount racks. So there could be even more Oklahomans than usual in the stands at Cowboys Stadium when the Rams come to town for a 3:15 p.m. kickoff. Bradford has received more than a few ticket requests from friends and family. "And I would hate to"
Ankle sprain keeps Bradford from practice
"Rams quarterback Sam Bradford did not practice Wednesday, adding to speculation that he might miss Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Bradford suffered a high ankle sprain in the 24-3 loss to the Packers in Green Bay. He is wearing a protective boot and trying to stay off his left ankle as much as possible. "We wanted to keep his leg elevated," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "I don't know what to think. I don't venture to take any guesses on high ankle sprains." Backup A.J. Feeley took all the snaps Wednesday. "I thought A.J. operated pretty well," Spagnuolo said. "He got us in and out of checks.""
Bradford suffers high ankle sprain, listed day to day
"Quarterback Sam Bradford suffered a high ankle sprain on the last play of Sunday's 24-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers and is listed as day to day. Bradford was walking in a boot Monday and coach Steve Spagnuolo expected his reps to be limited this week, as the Rams prepare for the Dallas Cowboys. "I think you're always concerned to see a quarterback in a boot," Spagnuolo said. "With a high ankle sprain, you never know. Fortunately, it's not the plant foot." Backup A.J. Feeley will be preparing to start if Bradford can't."
Refreshed Bradford needs new top target
"Eighteen sacks and at least that many hits into his second NFL season, quarterback Sam Bradford's body already has absorbed a lot of punishment. But he returned from the Rams' bye week refreshed mentally and physically. "Body feels great," Bradford said. "I had a great workout (Tuesday). I lifted about as heavy as I have since the season started. The body feels about like it did when the season began, and I think that's one of the big pluses of the bye week." Mentally, the weight of an 0-4 start and a misfiring offense probably was as heavy as any iron he pumped Tuesday. Spending the long bye weekend back home in Oklahoma helped Bradford get his mind right. He didn't even sneak down to"
Rams concerned about hits on Bradford
"Three games into his second NFL season, Sam Bradford has been equal parts quarterback and piñata. He's on pace to be sacked 59 times, which would be a Rams record. That's a recipe for disaster, not to mention the injury list. Bradford was sacked a career-high five times Sunday against Baltimore, and hit several other times. So it was not surprising that coach Steve Spagnuolo was blunt, almost biting off his words, when asked at the start of the week about his team's pass protection. Is he concerned about the number of hits Bradford has been taking? "Yeah, very concerned," Spagnuolo said. "That's a focus.""
Bradford, Jackson practice for Rams
"The St. Louis Rams reported to practice relatively healthy, including Sam Bradford and Steven Jackson. Bradford suffered a sprained toe in the Rams' loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday but shrugged off the injury after practice. "It's fine. It's no big deal. I really have no idea why anything even got said about my toe, to be honest with you," Bradford said. Coach Steve Spagnuolo reported that Jackson, who suffered a thigh injury on the opening TD run of the season, was limited but did more work today than last week. "You don't see him out here a lot on Wednesdays," Bradford said. "Anytime he's out here Wednesday practicing, especially the way he looked today -- he looked"
Bradford injures toe; X-rays reveal no broken bones
"The St. Louis Rams injury report grew a bit Monday following the 37-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Quarterback Sam Bradford suffered a sprained toe. An X-ray revealed no broken bones. "Right now we hope it's not a big deal," coach Steve Spagnuolo said."
Bradford still has room to grow
"With offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels adding more flair to the game plan, the Rams tried to join the movement on Monday night at MetLife Stadium. They were ready to turn Sam Bradford loose, throw the rock and become part of the NFL's passing-game revolution. I don't know if the game against the New York Giants was supposed to be Bradford's official bright-lights, big-city rollout as one of the game's rising young stars. But if this was supposed a nationally televised main event, Bradford made a positive impression. Bradford's fastball wasn't enough to make the Rams a winner for the first time this season as they lost to the Giants to go 0-2. And while Bradford obviously could have done"
Sam Bradford probable, Steven Jackson game-time decision
"As the Rams prepare to face the Giants in a game which may have more injured players than points scored, the Rams have given their fans some good news. First, St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford officially is listed as probable with a finger injury that created significant consternation last Sunday, with concerns regarding possible nerve damae. Second, Rams running back Steven Jackson has yet to be scratched. He's technically questionable with a strained quad, despite not practicing all week. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said that Jackson's availability will be determined at game time."
