Roddy White News & Rumors

Roddy White added to NFC Pro Bowl team
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was added to the NFC Pro Bowl team today, according to the NFL. White will replace Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who is unable to participate due to injury. White finished the season with 100 catches for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished second in the NFL, and led the NFC in receptions for the second straight season."
Roddy White shines in national spotlight
"Roddy White's climb up the Falcons' receiving chart has not been quiet. The Falcons wide receiver is rarely silent. White caught 10 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday night's 41-14 blowout of the Jaguars. The spotlight of a nationally televised game doesn't hurt. White went over 1,000 yards for the fifth consecutive season, becoming the first receiver in Falcons history to accomplish the feat. He became only the eighth player in NFL history to do so, joining Tim Brown (1993-99), Cris Carter (1993-97), Marvin Harrison (1999-06), Torry Holt (2000-07), Chad Ochocinco (2003-07), Jerry Rice (1989-96) and Reggie Wayne (2005-10). "It means a lot," White said. "It means I've been"
Falcons' Roddy White reportedly hit with paternity suit
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is on the receiving end of a paternity suit, according to TMZ.com. The website reported Thursday that banker Stacey Hott is claiming in court documents filed in Georgia that White is the father of her son. She is said to want White to pay child support for the 4-month-old boy. "[White] is a professional athlete capable of providing generous support for the minor child commensurate with his earnings," Hott said, according to TMZ."
White says rookie Julio Jones is 'going to have those days'
"Roddy White knows there will be growing pains for Julio Jones, the rookie wide receiver who had a tough day in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Texans. Jones dropped several passes, including a potential game-tying catch in the end zone as time expired that bounced off his hands. He was penalized for illegal touching less than a minute earlier when he caught a pass after stepping out of bounds. Jones also was caught too far downfield following a play in the second half that forced the Falcons to call timeout. Jones finished with four catches for 68 yards. "You are going to have games like that," said White, the veteran receiver. "He's still a rookie. People have to understand that. It's still"
White puts together back-to-back 100-yard games
"As the Falcons continue their push toward the playoffs, they need Roddy White. Their No. 1 receiver, who entered the season with four straight 1,100-plus yard receiving campaigns, has struggled at times. He has been plagued by leg injuries and dropped passes. He had just one 100-yard game in the first nine contests. He's starting to put those troubles behind him, especially in the last two games. That's good news for the Falcons (7-4) as they play meaningful second-half games. So Roddy, what does it feel like to have back-to-back 100-yard receiving games? "It means I feel like I'm in a groove and finally starting to put things together," White said after the Falcons' 24-14 victory over the"
Roddy White turns in his best game of the season
"Roddy White knew things might go his way. He made the most of them. White caught a season-high 147 yards on seven receptions in Sunday's 23-17 victory over the Titans. "I felt that way," White said of his chances. "You just go through practice really hard and get yourself ready to go Sunday. We did a good job getting me the ball and making some plays. "Coach said we were going to go out and kind of [out] tempo these guys. Get in and out of the huddle and try to full-court press those guys so we could go out there and get the looks we wanted, execute and throw the ball downfield.""
Aaron Rodgers not happy with White's comments
"Before All-Pro wide receiver Roddy White could be asked by Aaron Rodgers' comments about the Falcons being "borderline" disrespectful" after last year's 48-21 playoff thrashing, the interview was cut short by the teams' communications staff. White said he had three minutes to chat, but 1:57 into the three minutes, a staff member gave another member of the staff a sign to step in and cut off the interview. We were told he had to "go to a meeting" during what's supposed to be the open locker room time to meet the media. White's not shy and he would have addressed the comments. It seems that the Falcons have orders to shut White up over the matter. (FIRST AMENDMENT!!!) White's his own man"
Roddy White feels he's hurting the offense
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was in a downcast mood after the Falcons victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. It wasn't the gray skies or the rainy weekend spent in the Pacific Northwest, either. For the second game in a row, White, the Falcons All-Pro wid receiver, had two dropped passes in the fourth quarter. One of his drops against Tampa Bay could have given the Falcons a lead and perhaps avoided a 16-13 defeat."
Falcons ready for dress rehearsal
"The Falcons' trip to Heinz Field to open the 2010 season was fruitful. After standing up to the rugged Pittsburgh Steelers in a hard-fought 15-9 overtime loss, the Falcons went on to win 12 of their next 13 games on their way to the NFC South championship. The Falcons hope their meeting with the Steelers in the key third exhibition game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, which will serve as their dress rehearsal for the 2011 season, can propel them on a similar run to start the new season. "We have an opportunity here to go against a great defense," tight end Tony Gonzalez said. "It's a good chance to see how we stack up." The Falcons' first-team units have sparkled in the two exhibition games. The"
Falcons' White builds bigger profile, mentors Jones
"After years outside the national spotlight, Roddy White's profile has grown. Over the offseason, the Falcons' All-Pro wide receiver participated in ESPN the Weekend at Disney World and later debated the affable but tenacious Skip Bayless on First Take. "I got my five minutes in with Skip," White said. "The First Take thing was good." White also toured the ESPN facilities in Bristol, Conn., and did maybe a dozen other shows, mostly discussing the high expectations set for his team. The painful part was White also had to explain the Falcons' exit from the playoffs at the hands of eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. "Everybody has high expectations for us," White said. White's"
Q
"Falcons All-Pro wide receiver Roddy White in an exclusive interview with The Atlanta Journal- Constitution on Friday defended the NFL Players Association's decision not to vote on the agreement that the owners approved on Thursday. White believes some of the Falcons will report to the building on Saturday, but doesn't feel the owners were fair in putting a deadline on the NFLPA to re-certify. Here's the Q"

The other Falcons making the list were defensive end John Abraham (69), quarterback Matt Ryan (52), tight end Tony Gonzalez (46) and running back Michael Turner (42)."
Ryan lines up with White and Jones
"Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White didn't want to chat after taking part in his first players-only practice on Tuesday. Perhaps, he was tired after running several 100-yard sprints because the offense lost a challenge to the defense at the end of practice. "No interviews, baby," White said. "I came out here to work. The first day of training camp, y'all got me." White has attended two other workouts, but wasn't comfortable with the field turf. Also, last week he held a football camp in his hometown of Charleston, S.C. He's been working out alone and appeared to be in great shape. "He's been having a really good offseason," Ryan said. "I thought he was really productive today. He"
Pro Bowler Roddy White joins in the player-only workouts
"Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White is taking part in the team's practice today. Quarterback Matt Ryan and player representative Coy Wire have been leading twice-a-week since early May. During the seven-on-seven drills, White and Julio Jones lined up together with Michael Palmer at tight end. On a subsequent play, White and Jones were flanked on opposite sides with Harry Douglas in the slot."
Roddy White makes video to welcome Jones to Atlanta
"Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White was so moved by the team's trade that enabled them to draft wide receiver Julio Jones that he made a 52-second video welcoming Jones to Atlanta. White, who led the NFL in catches with 115 last season, posted the video on his website roddywhite.tv. It was titled, "Roddy welcomes Julio to the ATL: A draft day welcome from Roddy to Julio Jones." "I'm excited about our pick," White said. "We moved up. We got Julio Jones. I can't want to see him. [I] can't wait to get him on the squad. [I] can't wait to interact with the young man. Welcome to the NFL." White also noted that a part of Jones' rookie chores will be to provide him with doughnuts on Fridays"
Roddy White says man has his jerseys and wants $10K to return them
"Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl receiver Roddy White said a man he asked to frame three of his football jerseys took them and won't give them back -- unless White pays $10,000. White told Channel 2 Action News he agreed to pay the man $400 for each of the framed jerseys. The man took the jerseys -- two regular season Falcons game jerseys and a Pro Bowl one -- and now is asking for $10,000. White filled out an application for an arrest warrant in Gwinnett County on Thursday, Channel 2 said. A judge will hold a hearing to decide whether a warrant should be executed. White set Falcons team records in 2010 for receptions and receiving yardage. He also led the league in receptions."
Roddy White to participate in ESPN The Weekend
"After leading the league in receptions with 115, wide receiver Roddy White's national profile continues to rise. He will participate in the eighth annual ESPN The Weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort on Friday through Sunday. The event is a sports-themed weekend where fans have an opportunity meet White, several other players, sports figures and ESPN personalities."
White, Abraham selected first-team All-Pro
"After a dazzling 115-catch season, Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was a near unanimous selection to the Associated Press All-Pro first team, which was announced on Monday. A nationwide panel of 50 media members who cover the NFL vote on the NFL All-Pro team. New England quarterback Tom Brady was the top vote-getter, receiving all 50 votes White, received 47 out of 50 votes cast, had 1,389 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. He also led the league with 36 catches for 497 yards and five touchdowns on third down. A league-high 29 of his 36 third-down catches went for first downs. Defensive end John Abraham, who terrorized quarterbacks and registered 13 sacks, was also named to the All-Pro"
Roddy expects fans to be rowdy
"Wide receiver Michael Jenkins is one of the few remaining players from the 2004 team that routed the St. Louis Rams, 47-17, in the Georgia Dome. For most of the squad, this will be their first home playoff game at the Georgia Dome. "I think it'll be pretty, pretty, pretty loud," wide receiver Roddy White said. "Mike (Jenkins) told me about when they played St. Louis (in 2004 divisional round) and how loud the Dome was and how excited the fans were. So we expect them to be just like that. It's a big game, and it's just the next step for us. This is what we worked so hard for throughout the season. You win all those games and you want to get home-field advantage for a chance to win.""
Roddy White ends swirling week of controversy
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White drew the ire of the city of New Orleans with some messages on twitter.com account last week. Even though he apologized for those messages ripping the team and the city, he was clearly on the Saints' minds during the game and got into a couple of shouting matches with New Orleans defenders. He was on the coaches' mind's too. White entered the game leading the league with 33 catches for 465 yards on third downs. In the first half, the Falcons had six third-down calls and never threw once toward White. White did score on a 7-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter to make it 10-7. On third down throughout the first half, the Falcons bent over backwards"
Roddy White apologizes to New Orleans for his tweets
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White apologized on Thursday to the city of New Orleans and any fans he may have offended with his "tweets" on twitter.com. Click here. "I'm sorry," White said. "I wasn't trying to offend anybody about that stuff, especially the city of New Orleans." White was caught off guard by his tweets going viral over the internet. "Some people just take things out of context," White said. "I just felt like that's not what I was aiming for, to say anything about the city. They are the defending world champs." White said he wasn't admonished for the tweets by head coach Mike Smith."
White tries to reel in competitive spirit, cut penalties
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White doesn't believe anybody can defend him. Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey doesn't think anybody can stop his star pupil, either. Both might be right because White leads the league in catches with 91 and yards with 1,291. However, no one is unstoppable and, in two of the past four games, White got ticked off when two defensive backs got in his face, barking a little too much for his taste after rare stops. St. Louis Rams cornerback Ron Bartell was one culprit, and White was called for a penalty after shooting him an elbow. Two games later, White got another penalty against Tampa Bay after backup cornerback E.J. Biggers jumped in his face after"
Falcons want fans to 'Rock the Pro Bowl vote'
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White and tight end Tony Gonzalez continue to lead in the Pro Bowl voting with 346,225 and 273,821 votes, respectively. The Falcons have started a "Rock the Vote" campaign for the Pro Bowl fan voting. The team is encouraging fans to support their players by voting for the NFL's all-star game, which will be played Jan. 30 in Hawaii. Fans can vote on NFL.com/ProBowl. Fan voting concludes Dec. 20. In the weekly press release, the Falcons are touting White, Gonzalez, defensive John Abraham, quarterback Matt Ryan, running back Michael Turner, kicker Matt Bryant and linebacker Curtis Lofton."
White survives frustrating day against Bucs
"When Tampa cornerback Aqib Talib went out of Sunday's game with a hip injury with 10 minutes left in the second quarter, Roddy White wasn't happy. "I wanted to go against him the whole game," White said. "I love that kind of competition. I love to go against great players like that." Before Talib left, White had just two catches for 21 yards, and had, in his words, "mixed it up with him." White also got into with Buc linebacker Geno Hayes, who shoved White and took a swipe at him after a play ended. Hayes, however, was not penalized. "He shoved me and hit me in the head," White said. "But they didn't call it, and then …" With six minutes left in the second quarter, White shoved Talib's"
Michael Turner, Roddy White reach milestones
"Running back Michael Turner and wide receiver Roddy White set some milestones in the victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Turner broke the 1,000 yard barrier for the second time in his career with a seven-yard carry in the first quarter. Turner ranks sixth on the Falcons all-time rushing list with 3,632 yards in three seasons. He is 227 yards shy of tying former quarterback Michael Vick (3,859) for fifth all time. Turner scored his eighth touchdown of the year on a five-yard run in the first quarter. The touchdown run marked Turner's seventh touchdown in his last six games and he has now found the end zone in three straight games."
Roddy White, John Abraham return to practice
"Falcons defensive end John Abraham and wide receiver Roddy White returned to practice on Thursday. Both stars missed practice on Wednesday, Abraham with a groin injury and White with a knee. Abraham leads the Falcons in sacks with eight. White leads the league in catches with 79. Abraham didn't play last week against the Rams. The team has been careful with White since he suffered a knee injury, likely a bone bruise, against Tampa Bay on Nov. 7. Running back Antone Smith (hamstring) was the only player not to practice. Linebacker Curtis Lofton (knee), defensive tackle Corey Peters (pectoral) and wide receiver/kick return Eric Weems all fully participated in practice."
John Abraham, Roddy White held out of practice
"Falcons defensive end John Abraham (groin), wide receiver Roddy White (knee), running back Antone Smith (hamstring) and safety Shann Schillinger (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. Coach Mike Smith said Abraham and White were given "maintenance" days and both are expected to return to practice on Thursday. Abraham, who leads the team in sacks with eight, did not play last week against the Rams. "We are probably going to continue to rest some of these guys as we go through the rest of the season," Smith said. "Some of the older guys, we'll start trying to take some snaps off of them as we (move) into the last quarter of the season.""
White catches nine balls, piece of history
"By the numbers, Sunday's game against the Rams was just an average day for Roddy White. The Falcons' standout wide receiver caught nine balls for 83 yards. Yet with those nine catches, White moved into third place on Atlanta's all-time receptions list and became the fastest to 1,000 yards receiving in a season. White had no idea of the historic accomplishments until being told about them by a reporter after the game. Still, he made a point to show he was more concerned about another set of statistics -- Atlanta's 34-17 win over St. Louis. "I'm just going ahead and trying to win games and just trying to go out here and play as hard as I can," White said. "Hopefully, good things happen."
Source: Roddy White expected to play
"Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White is expected to play Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. White was limited in Atlanta's final practice Wednesday."
Roddy White questionable against Ravens
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White and center Todd McClure were limited in practice on Wednesday and are listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens. White and McClure suffered minor knee injuries against Tampa Bay, but returned to the game. They didn't practice on Monday or Tuesday. Also, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon did not practice, but is listed as questionable for the Ravens game. He has not played in the last three games with a right knee sprain."
Gonzalez shines in White's absence
"Roddy White walking slowly to the locker room in the second quarter isn't something the Falcons ever hope to see on a Sunday afternoon. When he did so against the Bucs, his departure left a some serious offensive slack that needed to be picked up for Atlanta to get the win. Fortunately for the Falcons, at least one guy was qualified to step into the opening left by White: tight end Tony Gonzalez. "He did a great job of going out there and catching balls and converting first downs, things like that," White said of Gonzalez. "When you have a Hall of Famer like that, you just ride him out." White came back in the second half, but even his brief absence helped allow Gonzalez, a 14-year"
Falcons receive scare when White hurts knee
"The Falcons received a scare when wide receiver Roddy White went down with a mild knee injury in the first quarter on Sunday. With the Falcons backed up to their 1-yard line, White caught a pass from Matt Ryan for an 11-yard gain, but he landed awkwardly after Tampa Bay's Quincy Black tackled him. The Falcons medical staff had White try out a couple of different braces before he had his right knee taped. "It was kind of tough, trying to get it back to where I wanted it to be at and not have it feel any different," White said. "But this is football, things like that happen." White entered the game leading the league with 54 receptions. He finished with a season-low four catches for 49"
Roddy White is carving his name into the Falcons record book
"Just a few hours after the Falcons thrilling 39-32 victory over Cincinnati on Sunday, wide receiver Roddy White had a message for his almost 8,000 followers on Twitter.com. "Don't worry Falcon Nation [I've] got a lot more to give [you]," White tweeted. It's hard to imagine how the two-time Pro Bowler could top the 11-catch, 201-yard and two-touchdown performance. But then, he's not one to be easily satisfied. White was a little bit ticked about failing to break the team record of 210 yards that he set last season against San Francisco. The 201-yard showing was still the second-best day in the team's history. Terance Mathis had a 198-yard game in 1998. White added to his franchise record"
Roddy White's day shows Falcons the possibilities
"Nothing like a little drama, right? The Falcons turned a 24-3 lead into a 25-24 deficit and suddenly nobody at the Georgia Dome knew whether they were a Super Bowl contender or a genetic mutation from the Marion Campbell era, returning for a haunting. But they won, and it's important to remember how they won. They were aggressive. They attacked. They didn't run an offense like you would throw a dart. They ran an offense like you would fire a bazooka. Remember this game. Because if the Falcons go on to make something special of this season, it will be partly because of the lessons learned in Sunday's frenetic 39-32 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Matt Ryan threw for 299 yards and three"
Roddy White calls Ochocinco's 'gifts' disrespectful
"Members of the Falcons secondary say they haven't received any shirts from Chad Ochocinco yet. But if the TMZ.com report is true, Roddy White doesn't like it. "That's not cool," Atlanta's star wideout told the AJC. "It's just disrespectful. Just going out on a limb and doing a bunch of things like that. He's a funny guy ... but guys take stuff like that personally." TMZ reported the Bengals' eccentric receiver shipped boxes of shirts featuring the "Mad Chad" character from his forthcoming iPhone game to the Falcons' secondary. The 4-2 Falcons play the 2-3 Bengals at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Georgia Dome. It would not be out of character for Ochocinco to taunt his opponents. Last year he sent"
Falcons' White underrated
"A conversation about the NFL's best wide receivers usually begins like this: Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall and Reggie Wayne. But only one of those five has more receiving yards this season than Roddy White and none of them has more touchdown catches. The Falcons' star wide-out, well on his way to a fourth straight 1,000-yard season, is the single most dangerous player on the field today for Atlanta -- and the focal point of the Eagles' secondary. "That's the really weird thing. I don't know what it is when you talk about the top receivers in the league, for some reason he doesn't come up," said safety Quintin Mikell, comparing White to Panthers Pro Bowl"
White, Bierman delivered knockout punches
"The battle with the Cleveland Browns went down like a heavyweight boxing match. The Browns were ahead in points, leading much of the second and third quarters. But trailing 10-6 midway through the third, the Falcons didn't panic and eventually landed some hay-makers with Roddy White's 45-yard touchdown catch and Kroy Biermann's interception return for a touchdown. "We knew going into the game against the Browns that they were a much better team than their record both offensively and defensively," Falcons coach Mike Smith said. "We knew we had to be patient.""
White's star power shines for Falcons
"Roddy White, the Falcons' superstar wide receiver, doesn't have his own reality show. He hasn't appeared on "Dancing with the Stars." He hasn't even been mentioned on "Real Housewives of Atlanta." White's transcendent ascension to two-time Pro Bowl status has gone largely unnoticed after a bumpy start to his career in the NFL, where dedication and work habits were an issue. Since his emergence during that tumultuous 2007 season, White has quietly gone about snagging balls out of the air, scoring touchdowns and stripping footballs from defenders when necessary. The reality shows and all of that other celebrity stuff can wait, even though his trademark back flips certainly would be a hit on"
Roddy White gets loose for career-high 13 catches
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White had a career day against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it just wasn't enough to change a 15-9 overtime defeat. With the running game bottled up, White finished with a personal-best 13 catches for 111 yards in Sunday's game at Heinz Field. However, he wasn't happy with the offense's inability to notch big plays or score a touchdown. "They got a lot of pressure on us today," he said. White figured in one of the game's more controversial plays when he caught a pass on a third-and-8 situation, and appeared to stretch across the 5-yard line for a first down, but the officials didn't give him a favorable spot, leaving the Falcons a yard short. "When I looked up and"
Roddy White may have to discuss Vick's timeline with NFL
"Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White may have some explaining to do to NFL authorities. Reports have surfaced that Michael Vick did not leave the party as early as his lawyer previous stated. White, the Falcons two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, also stated that they'd left the party long before the shooting occurred. Video has surfaced showing that Vick left three minutes before the shooting occurred, which is in direct contradiction of the statements of Vick's attorney Lawrence Woodward and White. The NFL has already said that it wanted to investigate the facts of the case and it's likely that White will have to meet with NFL security to go over his version of the story. (Just a bit"
Roddy White was at Vick's camp before the shooting
"Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White attended Michael Vick's football camp at Hampton University on Thursday but was not at a party later that night when a shooting took place. "Just got off the plane. Goin(g) to Mike Vick's football camp in VA. Should be good," White tweeted at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday off his Twitter.com account. Later, at 11: 05 he tweeted, "Camp was nice. It was hot, but fun." Jonathan Feinsod spoke to White's mother and she said Roddy was fine. He wasn't sure if White was in Virginia or back in Atlanta, but he was not present at the time of the shooting. "Roddy is pretty loyal to his friends," Feinsod said on Friday. "I'm sure he wasn't involved in anything.""
Roddy White looking to make more yards after catch
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has made it to the past two Pro Bowls. He was voted onto the team after the 2008 season and was added as a replacement last season. But he has been present throughout the minicamps and organized team activities while working to improve his game. After his third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season, White wants more yards and believes he can improve his yards after a catch, which is commonly called YAC in the wide receiver meeting room. White led the team with 392 yards after catches last season, followed by Tony Gonzalez's 240. But White averaged just 4.6 after a catch and Gonzalez averaged 2.9. Michael Jenkins had 126 yards after the catch, but"
Falcons WR White added to Pro Bowl roster
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was added to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday. White will be making his second Pro Bowl appearance in two years. He led the Falcons in receiving yards with 1,153 on 85 receptions and became the second receiver in franchise history to have three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. White had a career-high 11 touchdowns. "I'm excited to be heading back to the Pro Bowl for a second year," White said in a statement released by the team. "My teammates played a huge part in my success this year and I have to credit them as well.""
Falcons missing five starters vs. Eagles
"The Falcons will be without QB Matt Ryan, RB Michael Turner and WR Michael Jenkins against the Eagles on Sunday, NFL Network's Kara Henderson reports. The Falcons also won't have offensive linemen Sam Baker and Harvey Dahl. The one bright spot is that WR Roddy White will be active, as NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported earlier in the day."
Turner and White listed as questionable for Eagles
"For the third consecutive day, four Falcons offensive starters did not practice for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Matt Ryan (turf toe), running back Michael Turner (ankle), wide receiver Michael Jenkins (ankle) and right guard Harvey Dahl (ankle) did not practice Friday. While Ryan has been ruled out of the game, the other three players were listed as questionable on the injury report."
White: Playoffs start now for the Falcons
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White doesn't beat around the bush. As far as the Pro Bowl receiver is concerned, the playoffs start when the Falcons host Tampa Bay at the Georgia Dome on Sunday. "We are in the playoffs right now," White said. The Falcons are 5-5 with six games to play. If the playoffs started today, they would be on the outside looking in. White has figured that the Falcons need to run the table to make a second consecutive trip to the playoffs. "Win them all," White said. "We have to win. We can't have [any] more set backs. It's a six-game end-of-the-year deal. "We have to go out there and win six games. If we go out there and win six games, we'll control our own destiny.""
Roddy White expected to play
"Falcons wide receiver Roddy White and offensive tackle Sam Baker returned to practice Friday. White (knee) and Baker (ankle) did not practice Thursday, but were limited in their participation on Friday. "I anticipate them being ready to go on Sunday afternoon," Falcons coach Mike Smith said."
