There was jubilation when the Penguins acquired star right wing Marian Hossa at the 2008 NHL trade deadline and a feeling of regression and anger when he bolted for Detroit a few months later. With Hossa, things are never quite as they seem. While the star 30-year-old unquestionably helped the Penguins to the 2008 Stanley Cup Final, his departure from the squad that summer might have paved the way to future success. If only center Sidney Crosby really had "the Blackhawk flu," as he joked Saturday morning after opting out of the Penguins' 2-1 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at Mellon Arena because of a groin injury. "I don't like missing games at all, but especially against this team that has a lot of great hockey players and is a great matchup for us," Crosby said.
