Jeremy Maclin News & Rumors

Eagles downgrade Maclin to questionable
"Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has suffered an apparent setback in his bid to return to action after missing three games with a hamstring injury. The Eagles on Saturday morning downgraded Maclin from probable to questionable for their game Sunday against the Dolphins in Miami. Through nine games, Maclin had 46 catches, 612 yards and four touchdowns and was well on his way to a career year. But he suffered shoulder and hamstring injuries in the Nov. 13 loss to the Cards and hasn't played since."
Maclin expects to play for Eagles in Miami
"Barring any setbacks, Jeremy Maclin will practice Wednesday and play Sunday against the Dolphins. It's been a rough three weeks for the third-year wideout who was leading the Eagles in receiving and — besides a few fumbles — having the best season of his career, and one of the best in franchise history, before being sidelined by hamstring and shoulder injuries. "It's been tough, man," Maclin said Monday, after being withheld from a light practice for precautionary reasons. "Other than my freshman year of college, when I tore my ACL, this is the most time I've missed. "I'm frustrated, but like I said, I tried to come back once and I just wasn't ready, so I had to wait until I was ready this"
Vick, Maclin expected to return
"Barring a setback, Eagles head coach Andy Reid expects Michael Vick to be the team's starting quarterback in a little over a week when the Birds travel to Miami to play the Dolphins. Reid said he expects Vick, who has been sidelined with a rib injury, to practice beginning on Monday. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) is also improving and Reid expects him to practice on Monday and play next Sunday. In other injury news, special teams monster Colt Anderson has a torn ACL and is out for the season. He will have surgery next week. Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha suffered a concussion against the Seahawks. Meanwhile, King Dunlap is recovering from his concussion. Reid said that Dominique"
Eagles injuries: Vick, Maclin and DRC out
"The Eagles Wednesday morning ruled quarterback Michael Vick out for their game Thursday evening against the Seahawks, the third straight game he'll miss with broken ribs. Vick, who also missed three games last year with broken ribs and rib cartilage damage, got hurt during the loss to Arizona. Vince Young, who started against the Giants and Patriots, will make his third start as an Eagle Thursday night in Seattle. The Eagles also ruled out Jeremy Maclin for the Seahawks with a lingering hamstring injury. Vick and Maclin did not accompany the team on its charter flight to Seattle early Wednesday morning."

Injury update: No Vick, Maclin; Shady limited
"According to Andy Reid, quarterback Michael Vick is making progress but he's still not ready to practice. During his morning press conference, Reid said that Vick (ribs) would throw on the side but would not officially participate in the practice. "He's making progress every day," Reid said. "Right now he just cant torque, can't put the heavy torque on the ball without feeling some pain there. Until that goes away, he can't throw consistently.""
Maclin's status against Patriots still uncertain
"Coming back from one injury this time of year in the NFL when the body has been battered is tough enough, but Jeremy Maclin is nursing both a shoulder and hamstring injuries. Maclin, who suffered both injuries against Arizona two games ago, practiced Wednesday, which is, of course, a positive development. However, the Eagles' leading receiver statistically didn't go through a full practice, so his availability against the Patriots Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field is uncertain. "I guess we'll see. Obviously, I want to play, but we'll see," Maclin said following practice."
Vick, DeSean won't practice, Maclin will
"Neither Michael Vick (ribs) nor DeSean Jackson (foot) will practice Wednesday as the Eagles prepare to face the Patriots Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Jeremy Maclin (shoulder, hamstring) will return to practice. Head coach Andy Reid said Vick tested the ribs by throwing a little bit on Tuesday and is expected to do so again Wednesday. "It's getting better. It's just not there yet," Reid said Wednesday. "He didn't do much. He can still feel it.""
Vick, Maclin ruled out vs. Giants
"The Eagles will take on the Giants without two of their biggest offensive weapons on Sunday. As reported by Reuben Frank Friday, Michael Vick has been ruled out against the Giants and Vince Young will start at quarterback for the Eagles. Vick missed a third straight practice Friday with broken ribs. He suffered the injury in the Eagles' loss to the Cardinals at the Linc this past Sunday. Vick has lost eight of his last 11 starts after winning eight of his first 10 starts in an Eagles uniform."
Maclin hopes patience will pay off
"The Eagles beat the Cowboys in an uncharacteristic fashion on Sunday night. They played small ball. Earlier in the week, Reuben Frank wrote about that dink and dunk method. The Eagles' longest pass of the day was a 24-yarder to Jason Avant. Everything else was underneath. The Bears have the 28th passing defense in the league. They have allowed 271.9 yards per game through the air. They've allowed 23 passes of 20 yards or more (15th most in the NFL) and three of 40 or more yards. So there might be some opportunities on Monday. "As an offense, we just have to be patient and exploit them where they're weak at," wide receiver Jeremy Maclin said. "Dink and dunk downfield and every team has a"
After health scare, a career-year for Maclin
"Watching him now, racing effortlessly down the field, making big catches in traffic, piling up career-best numbers, it's easy to forget that just a few months ago, Jeremy Maclin was spending his time in hospitals undergoing tests, visiting numerous doctors and specialists in St. Louis and Philadelphia, soberly concerned for his career. And for his life. Maclin's health was one of the big storylines of the Eagles' off-season, and his battle with a mystery affliction that caused him appetite loss, fevers and chills and trouble sleeping became a national story as rumors and speculation spiraled out of control. Even when doctors finally cleared Maclin of lymphoma and every other"
Vick, Maclin ready to face 49ers
"Not only is quarterback Michael Vick ready to go Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, but so is his leading receiver. Vick and wideout Jeremy Maclin were each listed as "probable" on the injury report Friday, and both say they expect to be playing Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. There were questions about Vick's status for the second straight week. Last week, he had to pass a barrage of concussion tests. This week, Vick had to push through swelling in his bruised right hand. "All week last week it was a rough week, but I want to hold myself accountable," Vick said. "I feel like every Sunday is a time for me to go out and display what I've been put on this Earth to do, and I won't do"
Maclin steps out and rocks Rolle
"Jeremy Maclin thinks Antrel Rolle and the Giants are running their mouths because they might be running scared. Responding to Rolle's comment on the radio this week that he has "handled" Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson one-on-one before and can do so again Sunday, Maclin mocked the Giants safety and Big Blue as a whole. "A lot of times when people talk, they're either insecure or scared," the Philly wide receiver said yesterday as the Eagles (1-1) prepared to take on the Giants (1-1) at Lincoln Financial Field. "I don't know what he is, but he's talking, so that says something.""
Robinson fined $40K for hit on Maclin
"For the second straight year, Dunta Robinson has been fined for a vicious shot at an Eagles receiver. Robinson on Monday was fined $40,000 -- the minimum amount for a second-time offender -- for his hit Sunday night (video) on Jeremy Maclin. According to a release by the league, the Falcons' cornerback violated the rule designed to protect a defenseless receiver. After the game Robinson, who was penalized for the hit, didn't expect to be disciplined. "I honestly do not expect to hear from Commissioner Goodell," he said. "I felt that it was a legal hit even though I was penalized in that instance. I feel strongly that there will not be any further repercussion.""
Jeremy Maclin has breakout game against Falcons - again
"Jeremy Maclin had his coming out party Sunday night. The rest of the nation found out what Philadelphia has known for a year now: The Eagles wide receiver is a budding star. Yes, the Eagles already have a superstar wideout in DeSean Jackson. But on a night when Jackson was held in check, Maclin carried the pass-catchers - until the bitter end. Unfortunately, his effort was all for naught as the Eagles fell to the Falcons, 35-31, at the Georgia Dome, and when the team needed him most Maclin couldn't hold onto a Mike Kafka throw over the middle on fourth down with less than two minutes remaining. He did almost everything: touchdown receptions, short grabs, long ones, and catches for first"
Maclin knows he'll be busier
"Jeremy Maclin caught one measly pass against the Rams. If there was one game in which you'd expect the St. Louis native and former University of Missouri standout to pile up the statistics, that would have been the one. "That's how it is sometimes," the third-year wideout said Thursday before practice. But don't blame the virus that cost Maclin all of training camp at Lehigh and the preseason. Maclin insisted that an inconsistent offense, not poor conditioning, led to his one-catch — a 20-yard effort. "That had nothing to do with it. That's just how the balls fell that day," he said. "As an offense, we didn't play like we wanted to play. We only completed 14 passes. Just a lot of"
WRs Maclin, Smith return to Eagles practice
"A couple hundred receptions returned to practice Saturday. Jeremy Maclin, who caught 70 passes last year, and Steve Smith, who caught 107 in 2009, practiced Saturday for the first time this year, the Eagles announced Saturday morning. Maclin practiced for the first time since spending five months this summer battling a mystery illness that doctors were never able to diagnose. Maclin's symptoms – loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, fevers – disappeared earlier this summer, and last week doctors examining a biopsy taken through a laproscopic procedure finally ruled out anything serious. Head coach Andy Reid said both Maclin and Smith took "very few reps" in Saturday's practice, which was"
Patterson, Maclin happy to be back
"The ailments were very different, but the fears were the same. Both Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson and receiver Jeremy Maclin were dealing with potential life-threatening situations that at the very least could have ended their football careers. So it was easy to imagine their relief, not to mention their elation, when they returned to the team Saturday. Both expect to be ready for the start of the season Sept. 11, if not sooner. Patterson suffered an on-field seizure Aug. 3 at Lehigh University. It was diagnosed as AVM (arteriovenous malformation), a tangling of arteries and blood vessels inside the brain. Maclin had a mysterious illness that lasted through the spring. It caused"

Maclin cleared to play after tests for lymphoma
"Why didn't anybody come out and say exactly what was wrong with Jeremy Maclin? Because nobody was quite sure. Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said Wednesday night that although doctors still don't know exactly what caused Maclin to experience fever, loss of appetite, weight loss and have trouble sleeping through the spring and summer, doctors are now confident that it was nothing serious. Burkholder said Maclin's symptoms have been gone for at least a month and said barring a setback he should be able to return to practice in seven to 10 days and should also be available to play against the Rams on opening day on Sept. 11 in his hometown of St. Louis. Maclin, the Eagles' 23-year-old"
Eagles think Maclin will be back soon
"Tuesday came and went without Jeremy Maclin or the Eagles providing any more clarity on Maclin's situation, despite a Monday promise from Maclin's brother that an answer was coming. And that is serving only to cause more speculation regarding Maclin's condition. Despite the rampant rumors, the word in the locker room is that Maclin suffers from mononucleosis and/or the lingering effects of it. Maclin disclosed in April that he lost 15 pounds in February with a "mono-like" illness."
No news from Eagles on Maclin's situation
"Andy Reid was unable to provide an update Tuesday morning on the condition of wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who has missed all of training camp with an undisclosed illness. But Reid indicated an announcement was forthcoming. "There's still some hours left in the day," Reid said after the final practice of training camp at Lehigh University. Reid previously was "optimistic" Maclin could be back for the regular season opener Sept. 11 at St. Louis."
Maclin health answers today
"Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin is fine, and an explanation about his health will come today, according to a report. Rumors that Maclin is suffering from a career- or life-threatening injury are false, Andre Maclin, Jeremy's brother, told the Sporting News. Maclin left camp last week to return home to St. Louis for more medical testing. "They kind of have us on a gag order until (today)," Andre Maclin said. "But he's fine, he's fine. That much I can say." He also said the Maclin camp would "definitely" address Jeremy's condition today. But the Eagles still aren't talking. The team refused to comment on the Sporting News report, and a team spokesperson said coach Andy Reid wouldn't make any"
Report: Maclin is 'fine,' more coming Tuesday
"Jeremy Maclin's mystery illness apparently is close to being revealed. Maclin's older brother Andre says that the Eagles' wide receiver is "fine" and an announcement regarding Jeremy's condition is coming Tuesday. "They kind of have us on a gag order until tomorrow," Andre Maclin told the Sporting News. "But he's fine. He's fine. That much I can say." The Eagles have declined comment. "We're aware of the report," a team spokesman said. "We have no comment." Jeremy Maclin has yet to practice in training camp because of an undisclosed illness. There has been rampant speculation regarding the gravity of Maclin's condition, but Andre insists it will be cleared up on Tuesday."
Eagles have flexibility concerning Maclin's status
"Just to clarify one thing on Jeremy Maclin's status: The third-year receiver is not eligible for the Reserve-Physically Unable to Perform list, which is reserved for players who have a pre-existing football-related injury suffered before they've arrived at training camp. The Eagles actually have Maclin on the Reserve-Non-Football-Related Illness list, which gives them more latitude on when they can activate him. Those on the PUP list must be activated before final roster cutdown day or they can't play the first six weeks of the season."
Reid believes Maclin will be ready for Eagles season opener
"The mystery illness that has kept Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin off the field hasn't done much to discourage Andy Reid. In fact, Reid remains optimistic Maclin will be ready when the Eagles open the regular season against the Rams. Maclin has yet to practice this summer and his status has been in question due to the unknown nature of his illness, fueling speculation about the third-year receiver. "I think he's going to be ready," Reid told Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. "I guess I'm optimistic. I'm waiting to hear the results, but I'm optimistic.""
Maclin mystery takes scary twist
"The secrecy around Jeremy Maclin's mysterious illness since camp opened hasn't made it sound good. It seems even more alarming now because the third-year wideout has returned home to St. Louis for more tests. The team has said little about the affliction that kept Maclin out of camp for the first five days and then kept him off the practice field after he arrived at Lehigh. Maclin had been undergoing a battery of tests throughout camp, but the team didn't expound on the results or the types of tests Maclin underwent. But the signing of Pro Bowl wideout Steve Smith on Wednesday night could indicate Maclin isn't expected to contribute anytime soon. The Eagles opened their preseason Thursday"
Eagles continue camp without WRs Jackson, Maclin
"Day 10 at Lehigh was a lot like Days 1 through 9 at Lehigh. No DeSean. No Maclin. The Eagles continue to operate at training camp without their two starting wide receivers, but there doesn't seem to be much concern about their absence. The Eagles open the preseason with a game against the Ravens Thursday night at the Linc. Their starting receivers will likely be Riley Cooper and Jason Avant, who have gotten a ton of reps with Michael Vick and the first offense while Jackson and Maclin have been absent. Vick is having a brilliant camp, and Saturday might have been his best day yet. Despite playing without his starting wide outs and facing a defense stacked with three Pro Bowl cornerbacks,"
Maclin reports to Lehigh, may practice Wednesday
"Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin, who missed the first five days of training camp practice because of an undisclosed illness, arrived in Bethlehem on Tuesday and could be on the practice field as soon as Wednesday. "Lehigh...glad to be back!" Maclin tweeted Tuesday afternoon Maclin is known to have dealt with mono in the spring, but it's unknown if his absence was related to that. Maclin, 23, has 125 receptions for 1,726 yards and 14 touchdowns in two seasons since the Eagles drafted him with the 19th pick in 2009. He fell just 36 yards short of his first 1,000-yard season last year."
Eagles' Maclin, Kafka work out again in N.J.
"Jeremy Maclin welcomed the light workout on Thursday morning. The 23-year-old Eagles' wideout was back on the artificial turf field at the Memorial Sports Complex on Thursday for a very light workout toss-and-catch. The light workout followed a much more intense one on Wednesday in the 90-plus degree heat. "Yeah, definitely," said Maclin of welcoming a tame workout. "That workout yesterday was pretty brutal, but it was good for us though. It was a hot one yesterday. That was as close as you get to training camp heat. It was good for us to be out here pushing the sleigh, going through drills." Third-string quarterback Mike Kafka led the mini workout and tossed passes for a"
Jeremy Maclin has ground to make up after bout of mono
"Like birds that headed south for winter, the Eagles' offensive skill players are slowly migrating back to the Philadelphia area. Instead of gathering at the NovaCare Complex, however, they're assembling in Cherry Hill at ever-popular Power Train Sports. Quarterback Michael Vick and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin are the latest to enlist trainer Steve Saunders in their offseason workouts, joining tight end Brent Celek and a handful of other Eagles. Running back LeSean McCoy will join the flock next week. And soon enough, Vick will have a handful of ball-catchers to throw to for pickup practices he has said he intends to hold at a yet-to-be-determined South Jersey location. "LeSean is supposed"
For Eagles, opposites attract TDs
"They aren't exactly the Odd Couple, but they really are as different as the famed characters of the popular play and TV show. They are almost as odd as an Eagles fan and a Cowboys fan rooming together for a TV series. The splashy DeSean Jackson and the serene Jeremy Maclin are the Eagles' starting wide receivers. They could be called the Sod Couple, because both young receivers make big plays. But that's where the similarities really end. Jackson flops and detours along the goal line on his circuitous route to the end zone. Maclin goes straight in for six points, face first and as fast as he can. "Different strokes for different folks," Maclin said Thursday, when it was suggested he should"
Maclin quietly enjoying big season for Eagles
"JEREMY MACLIN isn't the type of receiver who feels an obsessive compulsion to draw attention to himself. He's not going to perform an excessive celebration after a touchdown. He's not going to talk about himself in the third person. He's not going to label himself as dynamic or display the "Diva Routine" that has become the identity of many top receivers in today's NFL. Maclin just goes out each week and does his job for the Philadelphia Eagles. And quietly, almost under the radar, Maclin has been pretty damn good at it. On a roster with an incredible story line like quarterback Michael Vick and an electric playmaker like wide receiver DeSean Jackson and a highlight-film running back like"
Eagles' Maclin quietly having a great season
"Jeremy Maclin may not be as dramatic as DeSean Jackson. Who is? He may not be as electrifying as Michael Vick. Who is? But as the Eagles head into Sunday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings, Maclin is playing every bit as well as his receiving counterpart and the Eagles quarterback. Maybe it's because of his unassuming nature and the flair that Jackson and Vick bring to their games that Maclin sometimes gets overlooked. "I don't look at it like that," Maclin said. "Whoever you guys decide to write about you guys decide to write about. I have no control over that. The only thing I have control over is helping my team win games. That's the bottom line." If you consider scoring"
Maclin: Very good and getting better
"The raised scar that stretches atop Jeremy Maclin's left hand is about the size of a small Band-Aid. It is a permanent reminder of his entrée to football, of where he grew up, and of how far he has come. As a 9-year-old in the rough Meacham Park section of Kirkwood, Mo., Maclin was playing football with neighborhood kids on a sandlot that was pocked with glass. On one play, Maclin fell to the ground, and a piece of glass pierced his hand. Blood poured out, and the wound required 10 stitches. "It scared me more so than anything," Maclin said. "Lots of blood." It was there, amid the blood and the glass, that Maclin's football career bloomed, and it is here, with the Eagles, that he has"
Maclin steps up for injured Jackson
"As DeSean Jackson lay on the ground after his vicious collision with Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson early in the second quarter, his offensive teammates stood a few feet away trying to process what they had just witnessed. "When you see stuff like that, it just makes you step back and think," said wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. "I don't wish that upon anybody, especially one of my teammates." It makes you step back and think, but not for very long, because, like war, the injured are carried off and the battle continues and players have no choice but to compose themselves and get their heads - and bodies - back in the game. Jackson, who suffered a concussion on the play, is not some"
Maclin injury drag down Eagles in loss to Bengals
"The Eagles' starting offensive line didn't get Kevin Kolb killed or even seriously injured last night. There, who said we couldn't look on the bright side? The Birds' second preseason effort, a penalty-strewn 22-9 loss to the host Cincinnati Bengals, showed that Andy Reid is indeed right; the Eagles coach often opines that the key to any offense is the line. The Eagles' first-team offense, once again, failed to score a touchdown, this time in a full half of work, basically because of confusion and penalties up front. In fact, as the clock ticked down inside a minute before halftime, Kolb stepped up nicely in the pocket and found Jason Avant for a touchdown - only to see the play nullified"
Maclin-Jackson spat could help Eagles
"DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin's argument Tuesday could have been about many things, some that may not have been to the betterment of the Eagles. But the two starting wide receivers bickering over who had the stronger work ethic, as Eagles sources described the quarrel Wednesday, could be, in the long run, a good thing for the team. "It was nothing," Maclin said after Wednesday morning's practice. One member of the Eagles' coaching staff said the dispute did not merit an intervention from coaches. Jackson and Maclin each have the reputation for being among the hardest workers on the team. Maclin transformed his body in an off-season strength-training program. Both were injured during"
Eagles' Maclin on Jackson: 'We're still cool'
"Wideouts are pro football's divas, and Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson seemed to be having some sort of minor spat toward the end of yesterday's morning practice. Maclin was speaking animatedly and Jackson was shaking his head. They walked off the field together, apparently having patched it up. Jackson still isn't talking to reporters, but Maclin said later that the dispute wasn't serious."
Eagles' Maclin still listed as day-to-day with bone bruise
"Jeremy Maclin immediately thought the worst, and the worst for the Eagles wide receiver was a repeat of the knee injury he suffered as a freshman at Missouri. On Tuesday, Maclin's left foot got caught in the ground when he was making a catch, and his leg bent backward. As he lay there in pain, teammates and the fans grew silent because they saw him clutching his knee. "Your initial thought is always the worst," Maclin said. "Just because experiencing that before, I've already gone through that, so I don't want to do it again. It almost felt like it did when I tore my [anterior cruciate ligament] my freshman year of college. Luckily, this time, I kind of caught myself before it actually"
MRI: Maclin just bruised
"Jeremy Maclin's injury is not as bad as once feared. Eagles officials said today Maclin only has a bone bruise in his knee, after Maclin underwent an MRI late Tuesday. Maclin and Eagles fans alike were relieved by the news. "Obviously you don't want to get any terrible news and I'm glad it is what it is," Maclin said. Maclin was not given a timetable to return. Depending on how bad the bone bruise is, Maclin could miss anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. "I have no idea," Maclin said. "I guess it's kind of one of those things that you have to play day by day and see how it feels. Hopefully, I'll be out there before I know it." No concern Stewart Bradley has no qualms"
Maclin day-to-day with bone bruise
"The Eagles reclassified Jeremy Maclin's knee injury from a hyperextension to a "bone bruise." Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said the wide receiver was day-to-day. Coach Andy Reid, who usually doles out information on injuries, did not provide an update after Wednesday's practices. Maclin injured his left knee late in Tuesday afternoon's practice when he pulled in a pass, caught his foot in the ground, and had his leg buckle under his weight. He did not practice Wednesday but underwent treatment and worked out indoors. The Eagles survived the morning session without any additional major injuries and went through a light special-teams practice in the afternoon. Wide receiver DeSean"
Add Maclin to wounded Eagles
"Last year, Andy Reid couldn't keep his overhauled offensive line intact to protect his quarterback. You name the injury, a guard, center or tackle sustained it. This year, Reid's new quarterback will have to get acclimated to the offense without the team's best sets of hands. Jeremy Maclin joined the walking-wounded list Wednesday afternoon when he left practice on a motorized cart. The second-year receiver sustained a hyperextended left knee during a non-contact scrimmage on a play in which he wasn't Kevin Kolb's intended target. The Eagles were already missing All-Pro wideout DeSean Jackson, another victim of a non-contact afternoon drill. Jackson strained his lower back Saturday and"
Maclin injures knee at practice
"Jeremy Maclin became the latest to join the Eagles' injured caravan of carted-off players at training camp. The wide receiver's knee injury, however, could keep him out longer than some of the team's other casualties. The Eagles are saying Maclin hyperextended his knee when he caught a pass late in Tuesday's light afternoon practice. A team source agreed that a three- to four-week stay on the sideline was likely. Maclin walked out of locker room after practice with a slight limp and was wearing a sleeve over his left leg. He said, "I should be all right." "My leg got stuck in the ground, and the leg just kind of buckled under me," Maclin said. He fell to the ground and was examined by team"
Eagles wideout Maclin latest to hitch ride on trainer's cart, but should be OK
"Not since the World Cup have so many athletes tumbled to the turf, clutching body parts, writhing in pain, to, thankfully, so little effect. Jeremy Maclin became the latest Eagle to suffer what initially looked like it could be a season-ending, or at least season-affecting, injury yesterday afternoon, only to appear later at the back door of the field house with a mild limp and a relieved look. "Hyperextended my knee a little bit," he said, wearing a white compression stocking on his left leg. "Should be all right, though." Maclin tumbled to the ground on what turned out to be the final snap of an abbreviated afternoon practice, with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in attendance. Eagles"
Jeremy Maclin has confidence, skills of a potential star wide receiver
"Jeremy Maclin doesn't look like a professional football player, much less one of the better young wide receivers in the NFL. He's listed at 6-feet, 198 pounds, both of which may be slight fudges. Maclin's muscles do not bulge through his shirt. Take away the pads and uniform, and in street clothes and Maclin just looks like a 22-year-old young man who likes the gym and takes excellent care of himself. And right now, Eagles fans have to hope the second-year wideout does just that. No one seems to think DeSean Jackson's back injury will keep the Birds' top playmaker out for long, though Jackson's not talking about it (or anything else, for that matter) and the Eagles reveal details on"
Pass to Maclin will go a long way for Vick
"It won't be courage awards or dogfighting speeches or endless, botched quarterback draws that will mark Michael Vick's season as an Eagle. It will be a 76-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, thrown on a designed rollout to Vick's left, thrown on target, where the defender couldn't touch it, where Maclin could catch it and race up the sideline. That play - the longest pass play in club playoff history - gave the Eagles life, albeit briefly, in their wild-card loss at Dallas on Saturday night. That play might have given Vick life as a quarterback in the NFL next season. It was the sort of pass Vick could not throw consistently even before he lost two seasons to dogfighting and gambling"
Maclin expects to play Sunday
"Donovan McNabb should have his full arsenal of weapons Sunday against the Denver Broncos, and that includes rookie wideout Jeremy Maclin. Maclin, who missed the Eagles' 27-13 win over San Francisco with a torn plantar fascia, practiced again Thursday and said he'd be ready to resume his starting job opposite DeSean Jackson. Maclin said a tear remains in his foot but that the injury can't get worse and doesn't preclude him from being productive. "It's not bad at all," he said before Thursday's practice. "Obviously, there is something there, but if you can deal with it, you can deal with it." Maclin's return gives McNabb five healthy receivers for the first time since September. Jason Avant"
Eagles' injury sweep pays visit to Maclin
"On the same day the Eagles welcomed back receiver DeSean Jackson and linebacker Akeem Jordan, they said goodbye to receiver Jeremy Maclin for about two weeks. Maclin tore the plantar fascia in his foot during Sunday night's 45-38 win over the Giants, leaving the Eagles with just three receivers on the active roster. Kevin Curtis traveled with the team but didn't dress against New York. Maclin was replaced by Reggie Brown, who caught just two passes for 31 yards. Maclin is likely out for Sunday's game against San Francisco at Lincoln Financial Field, according to Eagles coach Andy Reid. "From what I understand, without being a doctor, is that you have two strands that make up the plantar"
