Go ahead and admit it: The image you witnessed in the third quarter of the Jets' last game against the Dolphins isn't what you expected to see out of Braylon Edwards. You recall the scene: Edwards making a clutch, all-concentration catch in traffic near the goal line then, with two Miami defenders draped all over him, carrying them into the end zone for a Jets touchdown. Edwards, who, by unofficial accounts, led the NFL in dropped passes last season for the Browns, hardly was the receiver you expected to make the tough catch when it counted most. And Edwards, the supposed malcontent in Cleveland, was hardly the player you figured to make one of the most impressive singular effort plays of ..."

The Browns got rid of a headache Wednesday. There's a lot to be said for that, especially if the headache wasn't going to get better in Cleveland. But they sure didn't make themselves playoff-worthy with what they got in return. That might not even matter, though. Because Braylon Edwards did not want to be in Cleveland, and his every action indicated that reality. He goes away. And takes his Michigan rugs and Michigan toilet-seat cover and Michigan drink huggies with him. For a third overall pick in the draft, the Browns acquired two mid-round draft picks, a young receiver with unknown potential and a special-teams maven from Ohio Northern with six career tackles from the New York Jets. ..."
