Dallas Cowboys Trade Rumors

Cowboys show interest in Stanford Routt
"The Cowboys have expressed interest in cornerback Stanford Routt, who was released by the Oakland Raiders on Thursday. Vann McElroy, Routt's Houston-based agent, said Friday morning his client is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills on Saturday with another trip planned for next week to see the Tennessee Titans. McElroy said no other visits have been scheduled. However, Minnesota, Kansas City and Dallas have reached out to the agent about Routt's services. Last year, Routt signed a restructured contract for five-years worth $54.5 million with the Raiders, with at least $20 million in guarantees the first two seasons of the deal."
DeMarco Murray: Ankle is ahead of schedule; 'great things' coming for Cowboys
"When it comes to rehabilitating his injured right ankle, DeMarco Murray says he's ahead of schedule. The Cowboys star rookie running back had his season ended on Dec. 11 after fracturing his ankle in a 37-34 loss to the visiting New York Giants. "I've been working hard to strengthen my ankle," Murray said recently in an interview with FOXSports.com. "I'm definitely ahead of schedule. I think I start running on [Feb. 6] actually, so I'm excited to get back there." Murray, who was in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl, said he has stayed in Dallas since having surgery in December, working on getting back to full strength."
Source: Raiders denied interview with Joe DeCamillis
"The Oakland Raiders were denied permission to interview Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis for an assistant head coaching position, according to a source. Cowboys assistant coaches are unavailable to speak with the media during the offseason. Recently hired Raiders coach Dennis Allen worked with DeCamillis in Atlanta from 2002-to-2005 where a good relationship formed. Dan Reeves, DeCamillis' father-in-law, was the head coach with the Falcons at that time. "Dan Reeves is another guy that, he brought me into this league and gave me my first opportunity to coach in the National Football League," Allen said at his introductory news conference with the Raiders regarding"
Dallas an unlikely landing spot for Manning
"Peyton Manning in a Cowboys uniform? At first thought, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Who wouldn't want a future Hall of Famer quarterbacking their team? Then reality creeps in. First and foremost, it will never happen because of the salary cap. While trading Tony Romo to make room for Manning would be the optimal move, either trading or outright cutting Romo carries salary-cap implications and the hit would likely handcuff the Cowboys from making any other moves. And if you have Peyton Manning quarterbacking your team, you might want to upgrade that offensive line which got Romo sacked 36 times last season."
Cowboys backup picture hazy
"Jon Kitna has quietly slipped into retirement, Stephen McGee is fresh off bagging a big buck in South Texas and the Dallas Cowboys are preparing to search for a veteran backup quarterback. Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash., introduced Kitna as its football coach Thursday after he pulled the curtain on a 15-season NFL career, including the last three with the Cowboys. Kitna will also teach math at his alma mater, putting to use the math education degree he received from Central Washington. While Kitna was settling into his post-football career, Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett and the Cowboys' scouts were at the Senior Bowl studying draft prospects. Meeting with reporters in Mobile, Ala., this"
Report: Lil Wayne involved in nightclub altercation with Cowboys' Dez Bryant
"Dez Bryant may not be the only high-profile name involved in Sunday's nightclub altercation at Club LIV. As Miami Herald reporter David Smiley tweeted on Wednesday night, rapper Lil Wayne may have been involved in the fight with Bryant."
Report: Cowboys' Dez Bryant detained after altercation in Miami nightclub
"Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is in the news again for an off-field incident. The second-year wideout from Oklahoma State reportedly got in his latest trouble outside of the D-FW area. According to WFAA, Bryant was detained by Miami police Sunday night after an altercation at a nightclub. There has been no official confirmation that he was arrested, though."
Laurent Robinson hopes he can stay with Cowboys
"Laurent Robinson, who led the Dallas Cowboys in touchdown catches this season after being signed off the street, said he would like to come back and doesn't care if he's the No. 1, 2 or 3 receiver. "I think I fit in good here, you know, getting along good with the guys," he said Friday in a radio interview on ESPN/103.3 FM. "This is where I want to be. It doesn't matter if I'm the No. 1, 2 or 3. I feel like I have a good fit here." Robinson had a career season with the Cowboys. He caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 15.9 yards a catch, in 14 games. He was signed to a one-year deal in Week 2 after being released at the end of training camp by San Diego. Injuries had"
Cowboys announce Bill Callahan as new offensive coordinator, add Jerome Henderson
"The Cowboys officially announced Thursday they have added assistants Jerome Henderson and Bill Callahan to the coaching staff. Henderson will replace Dave Campo and preside over the secondary. Callahan will serve as the offensive coordinator while filling the position vacated by former offensive line coach Hudson Houck, who retired earlier this week."
Veteran backup QB Jon Kitna has informed the Cowboys that he will retire
"Cowboys backup quarterback Jon Kitna has informed club officials that he intends to retire. The 39-year-old Kitna, who has been Tony Romo's backup the last three seasons, was placed on injured reserve Dec. 14 because of a lingering back injury. He had been inactive for the previous four games with the back injury before being placed on injured reserve. When approached late in the season about the status of his injury and what it would mean to his career, Kitna politely declined to comment. Kitna retiring leaves a roster position open at quarterback for the Cowboys. Third-string quarterback Stephen McGee served as the team's backup when Kitna was sidelined because of his back injury. McGee"
Tony Sparano should be top priority for Cowboys
"Tony Sparano's return to Valley Ranch makes so much sense that Jerry Jones needs to offer as many dollars as necessary to make it happen. Maybe that won't matter, as Sparano has financial security from the contract extension the Dolphins gave him through 2013 before deciding to fire him as their head coach in December. Maybe Sparano will be offered a true offensive coordinator job with play-calling responsibilities, which Jason Garrett will not give up, that he considers too good to pass up. But Jerry has to give it his best shot if he really wants Garrett to succeed. Jones has proven in the past that he's willing to pay top dollar for assistant coaches, compensating Garrett like a head"
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones not surprised that Indianapolis Colts are interested in interviewing Tom Ciskowski
"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday on KRLD-FM 105.3 that he's not surprised the Indianapolis Colts are considering Tom Ciskowski, the team's assistant director of player personnel, for their general manager opening. Ciskowski is one of several candidates the Colts have expressed an interest in interviewing. The club has contacted the Cowboys and received permission to speak to Ciskowski, who joined the Cowboys in 1992. "Of course that's how it works. When people do a very good job they do get opportunities and Tom does an outstanding job of coordinating all of our scouts," Jones said on KRLD-FM. "He has a group of people, probably 30, who he basically coordinates of what we call pro"
Sources: Colts GM search includes Tom Ciskowski
"While some wonder if the Cowboys could lose Rob Ryan and/or Joe DeCamillis from their coaching staff to head coaching jobs elsewhere, they might also need to look at the player personnel staff, too. According to multiple sources, Indianapolis has requested permission to speak with assistant director of player personnel Tom Ciskowski for its general manager vacancy. The Colts are looking for a personnel chief after firing Bill Polian and his son, Chris. St. Louis could be another option after the Rams fired Billy Devaney. Ciskowski interviewed with the Rams in 2006 for the general manager's job. Baltimore's director of player personnel Eric DeCosta is also a reported candidate for both"
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is unequivocal that Jason Garrett will return
"Owner Jerry Jones has stated repeatedly that no matter what happens this season, the Cowboys will go into next season with Jason Garrett as their head coach. He stated that again after Sunday night's loss. "Unequivocally,'' Jones said when asked if Garrett will be back. "I feel that Jason is our coach and we can build and do some good things from here. We can take some of the things we need to do better and address them. "I've got a lot of confidence in him. He's done a lot of good things here and he's learned a lot this year."
Romo's hand continues to heal before Cowboys-Giants tilt
"Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was able to take snaps from under center at practice Friday, another sign that his bruised right hand is healing, according to a team source. There is no concern that Romo will be limited in any way for Sunday night's NFC East title game against the New York Giants, the source said."
Jerry repeats: Garrett's the coach next year, 'period, no matter the score'
"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said again Friday that Jason Garrett's job does not depend on the outcome of Sunday night's game against the New York Giants. The Cowboys and Giants play for the NFC East title amid speculation that the losing coach's job is in jeopardy. But Jones, asked about it on his weekly radio show on KRLD 103.3 FM, said that speculation is "just ridiculous." He said, "As I've said earlier, and I think it expresses it very well, we're just getting started with Jason, and it's just not the case at all. We can go free-wheeling with anything we're giong to do to ultimately do one thing, and that is win one ballgame. Nobody's worried about the coach's job here.""
Source: Cowboys not pursuing QB
"The Dallas Cowboys have decided not to pursue signing a veteran quarterback at this time, a team source said -- a strong indication that the team believes Tony Romo should be capable of both starting and throwing effectively against the New York Giants on Sunday night in a game that will determine which team wins the NFC East and advances to the playoffs. "He will be fine,'' said another source. Romo suffered a bruised hand when he struck it on Jason Babin's helmet on the fourth offensive play of the team's 20-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday. Romo was unable to return because he could not properly grip the football. Romo stood on the sideline with his hand heavily bandaged"
Report: Cowboys RB Jones '50-50' to play if Giants lose
"Will Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday? It might depend on what happens earlier in the day. Fox Sports Southwest reports that Jones "will not play a snap" if the New York Giants defeat the New York Jets but is "50-50" to play if the Giants lose. The report didn't cite a source, but the catch here would be if the Giants win, that would set up a de facto NFC East title game between them and the Cowboys next week -- even if Dallas loses to Philadelphia -- which would give reason to keep Jones fresh. If the Giants lose to the Jets, then the Cowboys can wrap up the division with a win over the Eagles, which would give incentive to play"
Cowboys' Felix Jones questionable
"Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones is listed as questionable for Saturday's potentially crucial NFC East game against Philadelphia after not practicing all week due to a sore hamstring. Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (stinger), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (rib muscle strain), receiver Laurent Robinson (shoulder) and cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder) are among the other Cowboys listed as questionable, but all are expected to play Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles. They were all limited participants in practice this week."
Starting running back job is Felix Jones' again
"The Cowboys have confidence in Felix Jones, and Felix Jones has confidence in Felix Jones. "Any time you get a chance to get out there and help your team you are happy," Jones said. "We've just got to do what we can and make the best of every opportunity we get." Jones returns to being the Cowboys' starting running back. He had that role until spraining his left ankle in the Oct. 16 game against New England. DeMarco Murray replaced him, and in his first game as the lead back, set the team record for rushing yards in a single game. Now, with Murray lost for the season with a fractured right ankle and high ankle sprain, it's Jones' job again."
Cowboys owner Jones: Garrett 'just getting started' in Dallas
"Given that the Dallas Cowboys are still fighting for the NFC East lead, even the most casual observers would reason that Jason Garrett's job is safe. But considering how the Cowboys have lost games, and that two NFL coaches were fired this week, it's a question that was still asked to team owner Jerry Jones. Jones, though, didn't know quite what to make of the idea that his rookie coach is in danger of finding the same fate. "Well, that's not a question that's in my mind, kinda worth responding to," Jones said Tuesday during his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM, per the team's official website. "But the answer's no. We're just getting started here.""
Cowboys bringing in former Texas Tech running back Sammy Morris on Tuesday
"The Cowboys are turning to 11-year veteran running back Sammy Morris to serve as Felix Jones' backup in the wake of the season ending injury to rookie DeMarco Murray, according to sources Morris, 34, played in college at Texas Tech before a solid NFL career that included stops in Miami and New England. He was released by the Patriots in training camp. The Cowboys needed to make the move after Murray suffered a fractured ankle and high ankle sprain against the Giants. Murray was slated to undergo surgery on Monday and placed on injured reserve on Tuesday."
See you next year? Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray has ankle fracture, high ankle sprain
"This wasn't the way Cowboys rookie running back DeMarco Murray wanted to go out this season. Murray left the Cowboys locker room late Sunday night on crutches with his right foot in a black protective boot. The hood of his gray sweatshirt covered his head as he made his way out of the locker room. Right outside the locker room, Murray was helped into his white Ford Mustang with blue racing stripes and off he went into the darkness. He never said a word. Take a good look Cowboys' fans, it's likely the last time you'll see Murray this year."
DeMarcus Ware one of eight Cowboys players to miss practice Wednesday, but he will play Sunday
"Eight Cowboys players missed practice Wednesday, including NFL sack leader DeMarcus Ware. Ware was held out for precautionary reasons after suffering a stinger late in the third quarter Sunday and missed one play before finishing the game. Ware is expected to play Sunday, however, and could return to practice as early as Thursday. Also missing Wednesday's practice: TE Martellus Bennett (ribs), NT Josh Brent (left knee), backup QB Jon Kitna (back), RG Kyle Kosier (left foot), S Danny McCray (ankle), WR Laurent Robinson (right shoulder) and third-string RB Phillip Tanner (hamstring). Kosier is expected to play Sunday and Robinson said he expects to play Sunday."
Cowboys rookie RT Tyron Smith has injured finger but not expected to miss any time
"Cowboys rookie right tackle Tyron Smith practiced Wednesday with his right hand heavily wrapped to protect a dislocated ring finger that he injured Nov. 24 against Miami in the Thanksgiving Day game at Cowboys Stadium. Smith said his finger "swelled up" in Sunday's loss against Arizona and bothered him more. Smith isn't expected to miss any practice time or games. "I'll be alright," he said. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was asked if Smith's finger is broken Wednesday."
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects receiver Miles Austin to be 'full go' in practice this week
"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he expects Miles Austin to return to practice Wednesday, adding that the receiver should be "full go" this week as the team prepares to face the New York Giants on Sunday. Austin missed four games since suffering a right-hamstring injury during the second quarter of the Cowboys' 23-13 victory over Seattle on Nov. 6."
Miles Austin expected to practice Wednesday
"Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin is expected to practice on Wednesday and baring any setbacks from his recovery from a hamstring injury, is expected to return to the starting lineup for Sunday night's game vs. the New York Giants. Austin has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury and lost a total of six games due to leg injuries."
Two teams have contacted ex-Titans coach Fisher about jobs
"At least two teams have already reached out to former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher about head-coaching positions, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. With Jon Gruden staying in the ESPN broadcast booth, Fisher is expected to be the most in-demand coach this offseason."
Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware (stinger) and TE Martellus Bennett (rib) injured against Arizona
"Cowboys outside linebacker and NFL sack leader DeMarcus Ware suffered a stinger late in the third quarter and missed one play before returning to the game. Ware was fine after the game. Ware recorded his 15th sack of the season against Arizona and has reached that plateau for the third time in his career, tying him for second in NFL history (behind only Reggie White, who accomplished it five seasons). It was also Ware's 95th career sack to pass Jim Jeffcoat (94.5) for the official club record."
Cowboys' Ryan ignoring job talk
"Even as speculation increases that he could be in line for a head-coaching job after the season, Rob Ryan said Friday he remains focused solely on helping the Dallas Cowboys win a Super Bowl. "That's the only thing we're here to do is to try to win championships. That's what we're going to do," the defensive coordinator said Friday. "About the speculation, I mean, shoot, I've speculated my whole life. It's no big deal. Those opportunities come when you work hard and take care of the job you have. That's what I am trying to do." Several media outlets bandied Ryan's name about after Jacksonville fired Jack Del Rio this week. Other coaches on the hot seat as the regular season winds down"
Cowboys defensive boss Rob Ryan says he's ready to be a head coach
"Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan believes he has the talent to be an NFL head coach, and that his brother's success with the New York Jets makes him want it more. But right now, he's trying to help the Cowboys beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. "Those opportunities come when you work hard and take care of the job you have," he said Friday in his weekly media session at Valley Ranch. "Watching my twin brother have all the success he's had and two championships in two years, that's exciting. That's probably piqued my interest more. Do I think I have the talent enough to do that job? Absolutely." Ryan said he had several job opportunities in the off-season but wanted to coach"
Cowboys' Miles Austin will likely miss another game
"Miles Austin did not make as much progress in coming back from his hamstring injury after Thanksgiving as Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had hoped. But Jones said he believes Austin and Felix Jones will play big roles in any success the Cowboys have from here. "I would hope at the end of the year I'm able to say, 'Man, without Miles and without Felix, we wouldn't have accomplished what we accomplished," Jones said Thursday at Valley Ranch. Austin missed practice again Thursday, although he worked on the side with trainers. "It doesn't look as good as I thought it was going to look from the long weekend that we had," Jones said. "But we should be and are giving him the time, all the time"
DeMarco Murray named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month
"Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for his play in November. Murray became the featured running back against St. Louis on Oct. 23 after Felix Jones injured his ankle. Murray led the team to a 4-0 record for the month of November, rushing 89 times for 434 yards (4.9 avg.) with one touchdown while adding 20 receptions for 156 yards (7.8 avg.) in the month. Murray is the second Cowboys player to receive the monthly offensive rookie award and only the fourth rookie honored."
Jerry Jones expects Miles Austin to play Sunday against Cardinals
"Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones sounded optimistic about Miles Austin returning to action this Sunday when the Cowboys travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals. Jones was asked Tuesday during his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM), if he expects Austin to play on Sunday."
Tony Romo's clutch play propels Cowboys to win
"Tony Romo started off Thursday's Thanksgiving win over Miami in Dallas acting like it was Christmas, he was Santa Claus and the Dolphins were present-desperate children. But after throwing two early interceptions, Romo gathered himself and propelled the Cowboys to a 20-19 last-second win over the Dolphins in Cowboys Stadium. Romo hit Laurent Robinson for two touchdowns and finished the day with a surprisingly efficient 22 of 34 performance for 226 yards and two touchdowns in addition to the picks."
Cowboys LB Sean Lee's injured left wrist healing so well he won't likely need surgery
"Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee's dislocated left wrist is healing so well that he won't likely need surgery at the end of the season unless he suffers a setback. Lee injured his wrist trying to tackle Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on Oct. 30 and didn't play the next week against Seattle. He returned for the Nov. 13 game against Buffalo and the last two weeks has played with a full cast on his left hand and arm that is capped and resembles a club, not allowing him to use his hand or fingers while playing."
Source: Cowboys had put in claim for Kyle Orton
"The Dallas Cowboys were one of three teams to put in a waiver claim on quarterback Kyle Orton on Wednesday, according to a source, but they lost out to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were awarded Orton, who was cut Tuesday by the Denver Broncos, because of their 4-6 record. At 6-4, the Cowboys would have been awarded Orton ahead of the 7-3 Chicago Bears."
Felix returns in reserve role
"Felix Jones got five carries for 18 yards as he returned from a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for four games. He also had one reception for 1 yard. He did not return a kickoff. Apparently, that was the plan -- to ease him back into the lineup. DeMarco Murray tied his career high with 25 carries for 73 yards and had six catches for 32 yards. His 31 touches were a career high."
Jones says the Cowboys will not sign a veteran receiver
"The Cowboys are admittedly thin at receiver with Miles Austin out two to four weeks with a strained hamstring. However one day after coach Jason Garrett said the team might look at available free-agent receivers, owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show on KRLD-FM that the team will only consider in-house options."
Source: Miles Austin to miss 2-4 weeks
"Dallas Cowboys starting wide receiver Miles Austin could miss 2-4 weeks with an injured hamstring suffered in Sunday's victory over the Seattle Seahawks, according to a source. Austin has been ruled out for this Sunday's game vs. the Buffalo Bills. He suffered the injury while catching a 37-yard pass near the Cowboys' sideline in the second quarter. Austin left the game immediately and didn't return. It's the second time this season Austin has suffered a hamstring injury. He injured his left hamstring at the end of training camp and, after playing in the season opener, he re-injured it in the Week 2 victory at San Francisco."
Cowboys WR Austin leaves with aggravated hamstring; 'It really hurts'
"Cowboys receiver Miles Austin is battling another hamstring injury -- this time to his other leg. Now his immediate future is in doubt once again. He will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. "It's paramount I get back as fast as I can," Austin said. Austin missed two games earlier this season with a strained left hamstring, and on Sunday he injured the right one during a 37-yard completion in the second quarter of a 23-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. "Randomly on that one play, my other hammy just grabbed up, out of nowhere," Austin said. "It's hard to describe how it feels, but it really hurts."
Ware eyeing NFL and team records for sacks in a season
"Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware is on pace for a 27-sack season. That would break both the NFL and the team record for sacks. Giants defensive end Michael Strahan owns the NFL record with a 22.5-sack season in 2001. The Cowboys recognize Harvey Martin's 23 sacks in 1977 as their team record, though sacks didn't become an official statistic until 1982. "As a pass rusher, you're always aware of what [sack numbers] you have," Ware said Thursday. "But you just don't talk about it. You just go out there and keep working, and at the end of the season, you just hope you're where you need to be.""
November key month for Cowboys playoff hopes
"The Cowboys play four games this month. Three of them are at home. The one road game is against Washington. If the Cowboys (3-4) don't win a minimum of three games, they will enter December with too much to overcome to have a realistic shot at the playoffs. "It's very important,'' quarterback Tony Romo said. "There is a sense of urgency. It's time for us to go and get started.'' It can be argued it's past time."
Cowboys could lose two defensive starters to injury
"Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins indicated Monday he could be sidelined for three to four weeks with a hamstring injury sustained Sunday night in Philadelphia. Orlando Scandrick will replace Jenkins in the starting lineup. Scandrick started in the opener while Terence Newman was out with a groin injury."
Sean Lee might play with dislocated wrist
"Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee will attempt to play with a dislocated left wrist, but he was not sure he would be able to play Sunday against Seattle. Lee visited with Dr. Bo Frederick, a hand and wrist specialist, today in Dallas to determine the extent of the injury. If Lee can play, he would wear a cast, although surgery remains a possibility. "I don't know for sure what the plan is this week," Lee said, "but I'm definitely going to try to work with the doctors, see how it heals and go from there.""
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones not concerned by loss: 'There is absolutely no alarm in me'
"Jerry Jones is known for his optimistic outlook. But even the Cowboys owner has to put aside his rose colored glasses when viewing this game, doesn't he? "I am disappointed,'' Jones said. "I want to be real clear here. There is absolutely no alarm in me. This can happen in the NFL. "We had a lot to gain if we could come up here and win this ballgame. We understand that. They played outstanding. We did not play good at all. I give them credit. "I'm going to say it one more time, not a cause for concern. And I'm not being defensive about it. That's not what this is tonight. This is a well-played game by them.''"
Cowboys leading tackler LB Sean Lee injures left wrist vs. Eagles, does not return
"Cowboys starting inside linebacker Sean Lee, who was enjoying a breakout season, injured his left wrist on the final play of the first quarter and didn't' return. Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick took off for a nine-yard gain and Lee's left hand hit Vick's helmet as he was going to make the tackle. "I pray that it's a dislocation and we hope that it doesn't have any break," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said of Lee's injury, "but we think it's a dislocation.""
Source: Cowboys cut Tashard Choice
"The Dallas Cowboys waived injured running back Tashard Choice on Saturday morning, according to a source. If Choice clears waivers, the team will then reach an injury settlement with him. The move was made to clear a roster spot for rookie linebacker Bruce Carter, who is expected to make his pro debut Sunday night at Philadelphia. Choice suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter against the St. Louis Rams last week and was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday before tightness in his hamstring kept him out of Friday's workout altogether. He underwent an MRI exam for the hamstring injury Friday."
Despite injury scare Thursday, Dez Bryant still returning punts for Cowboys
"Starting receiver Dez Bryant's returning punts -- whether it's a smart move -- has been a subject of much debate. An injury scare at Thursday's practice will only strengthen the argument for keeping him off special teams. Early in practice, Bryant was back for a punt when he appeared to injure his right foot. He went to the ground, took off his shoe and grabbed his foot in pain before waving off an athletic trainer. Bryant was OK, jogging to a passing drill after the incident."
