Jason Peters in the Pro Bowl is absolutely pitiful.

Quote:
8. Robert Gallery (Raiders) 1.75 sacks allowed (16 starts)
Finally has turned it around.

It's good to see David Baas being successful (albeit only 9 starts).

He's a guard... His job is to run block not pass block. Although he is being successful.

meh, there is only so much you can get from a stat like that.
so much of it has to do with the specific QB's awareness and release time.
for example, the steeler's or patriot's lines looks like crap, when alot of it has to do with roth+cassel holding onto the ball too long.

and im sure that not all sacks are attributed properly.(ex: what happens if they overload one side, do all the rushers count as a possible sack allowed?. or if there is a blown assignment, who is to determine who's sack that was.?)

First 3 seasons: 17 sacks allowed, 30 penalties
Last 2 seasons: 2.75 sacks allowed, 17 penalties (14 in 07, 3 in 08)

Yes, he has finally turned it around, no matter what position he is in. And people still say 'bust' whenever they hear his name.

HUGE difference between playing LT and LG. LT you go up against the best pass rusher the NFL has to offer. LG you go up against a DT(Usually UT) and have help to the outside and inside meaning the guy only has one go, straight forward. You can also argue him as a bust since where he was drafted is way too early for an OG that isn't extremely dominant.. Even Hutch that early wouldn't have been a great pick.

he is a bust as an LT.
He could be a solid starting guard

and from my understanding these are blown assignments.

How on earth did Peters make the pro bowl?! Not only did he give up the most sacks by an LT, but in fewer games than most.

And by the way, the LG for the Fins is Justin Smiley, not Jeff lol.

Yeah, as a replacement though, he's just posted the initial guys who were voted in. The main point of this the sack count anyway.

Looks like the Steelers didn't lose much when they let Alan Faneca go.

I've seen these lists on a lot of forums, does anyone know where they originally came from?

there is MUCH more to playing on the Oline than sacks allowed..
faneca is allworld.
in case you didnt notice, their running game suffered mightily.
they dropped to 23rd in rushing yards per game, and 29th in yards per carry.
they were 3rd and 7th last year in those categories.

yeah but it is very subjective to what you consider a blown assignment.
how does the observer know exactly what guy was supposed to be where?
