PS 3 or xbox 360?

For a casual game as your self i suggest the PS3 because it has Blue Ray and most of the games now are multi platform and you will get them on both systems and the PS 3 does have some great PS3 only games comming out the next few years.

I am a hard core gamer and I have both systems and if I was to recomend a system to another hard core gamer, then I would recomend the 360 because of Live. The 360 has a great line up right now which you can get cheap since some of them came out last year, they also have some great games comming out. I play te 360 a lot more than the PS3. I have more than 50 games for the 360 and if its a multi platform game i also get for the 360, but thats because i get my games for 5 bucks. I basically only use the PS 3 for blue Ray.

Basically, there aren't any good games (Except GTA4) for the next gen consoles.

Video games in general have been dumbed down, as they've become more mainstream.

Yeah I have been playing alot of older ps games on my emulator. Games like Ninja Gaiden2 now are still entertaining but even that has been made easier.

Bioshock was fun but another easy *** game.

I was looking foward to Hellgate London but that was a bust.

If you want the pro's and con's, chances are nobody is going to be able to give you an unbiased perspective. Most 360 owners will tell you about their games, and for the first year of the PS3's existance it was true, in reality the only triple A game (triple A means the best games on the market) was Uncharted, COD4, and Oblivion. While the 360 came out with Halo3, COD4, Bioshock, Oblivion, Gears of War, Forza, Ghost Recon, Mass Effect, and the Orange Box. What MS did was they shelled out a ton of money into these new IP's (franchises) but now that they've become successes they've turned around and become second or third party developers. Bioshock is coming to the PS3, as are any other Bioshock game that will be released. Mass Effect is going to join them soon, Ghost Recon 2 is now out for the PS3. Even Microsoft's flagship game Halo is no longer a first party developer, that means down the line it could very well end up on the PS3.

On the other side, GTA5 is console exclusive to the PS3, Final Fantasy 13 is as well. If you've ever played Grand Turismo, the 5th one is coming out in 09. God of War 3? You'll see it at E3. Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet. Remember Socom? Sony's most popular first person shooter? Its coming back too as an exclusive. Tekken 6 as well. All console exclusive, all considered flagship/triple A titles, going by what their predecessors accomplished. And these are all games that have yet to be released, so add them on top of GTA4 and MGS4.

As for the new 360 games, there's Gears of War 2 (which looks very very good) and Fable 2 (which although it looks amazing, the first one did too and it was a let down). Then there's Lost Odyssey, hyped to a great RPG but flopped, Ninja Gaiden 2, also a flop...BTW Banjo Threeie looks gay as hell, and I was a huge fan of the original 2 games.

So I dunno for me it was obvious which system to pick, if sales in the US are any indication it is that the PS3 is on the upswing, while the 360 the downswing.

I've never played that game.....but I know of it's predecessors, System Shock, and System Shock 2.

I never played those either. But, from what I hear...they're pretty good.

Yeah. That was pretty bad.

I've been out of the video game loop for a little while though.


The console that I would buy though, if I had the money, would be the PS3.

Yes i spent the extra 20 bucks and bought the battery pack and the charger... Still cheaper than what it wouldve cost me to ship it with my PS3

RPG's like Xenogears(best game I have ever played) don't exist anymore though

The 360 is easily the best system for people who really love gaming. The ps3 is better for the casual gamer. And the wii is for little kids, fat people, and helmet wearers.
