I'm not really a fan of comcast sports Tommy...

this was a dumb thread. I have disrespected our commentators and therefor shunned by society. I apologize. Tommy and Mike are awesome.

He's one of the biggest homers ever, but he definately knows his basketball. He's been with the team for over 50 years, so it's difficult to expect him to not bleed Celtic green.

Tom Heinsohn has 10 rings with the Celtics. His number is retired. I think it would be extremly odd if he wasn't biased.
The 'other guy', who has his name forgotten, is Mike Gorman, he can only offer 5 Emmy awards.
They may be the longest-tenured broadcasters of all sports.

I mean, what color commentator would like more? A Donny Marshall, who scored a total points of 293 in the NBA? Or a Scott Pollard?
After firing Cousy it wouldn't be a popular move...

Plus some of the things he says are just plain out stupid and aren't necessary.

He is great for dedication factor and history only.
You need to never post in this forum again. Tommy is one of the greatest commentators in Celtics history. Of course he is biased to the C's so was Johnny Most and everyone considers him a Celtics great. If you dont like Tommy and Mike then you are not a Celtics fan you are just some ******** bandwagoner who will jump off just as soon as things go sour

Tommy Heinsohn is one of the biggest homers ever, but that's what makes watching the Celtics great. It's not like he's broadcasting national games (which he did back in the 80's, and he was quite good at it, actually). He's doing Celtics games, so he can be as biased as he wants. I love Tommy, and he actually knows a great deal about basketball. And Mike Gorman is outstanding at what he does too. I love watching the Celts with them in the background. They made the games interesting even during that 2006-2007 season, when they were so bad.

Milledge you're quite an ***. First off it's an opinion so chill out. I've probably been watching the celts since before you were born, so theres no way I can't call myself a celtics fan, and I feel that is people like you who are a disgrace to celtics basketball. I have tons of respect for Tommy, he is one of the many faces of Celtics basketball history. He knows his basketball and creates character, but I don't think he makes the greatest commentator. That is all, and please be a little more friendly? As opinions go both ways.

Alright you are still be hostile, but I'll just ignore it. Tommy is a great guy, I like him and respect him, don't get me wrong. I just don't think he makes the greatest commentator, and I think your opinion sucks. Just because you haven't seen anything but Tommy means that you probably think that Tommy is the best that we can get. There are better commentators out there.

Yeah that's true. I really couldn't imagine what would happen if he was replaced with another guy. It would be the biggest kick in the face to him, and it would pretty much ruin his life. I guess I overlooked it quite a bit, and he deserves to be part of the celtics.
