Fastest man in the NFL

Who is currently the fastest man in the NFL?

40 times accepted for current rosters only!

Does anybody have any idea?

Um, I'm pretty sure its Allen Rossum on the Falcons...I don't know his 40 time though.

I don't know who has the fastest 40 time in the NFL, but Lee Evans is extremely fast, & I would have to imagine he's 1 of the fastest WR's in the NFL. I would think the fastest player in the NFL would be a CB that's between 5'8" & 5'10".

Randy Moss, Champ Bailey, Dante Hall, D'Angelo Hall, Laveraneus Coles...

Allen Rossum won the contest at the ProBowl but you have to think of all the guys unable to compete in that event. Here is a list of people that I think would be up for the title

Mike Vick Atlanta Falcons (supposedly ran 4.18 and 4.2 40 at a draft event )
Allen Rossum ( Won the 2005 NFL Fastest Man)
Antwaan Randle-El
DeAngelo Hall ( VT record 40-yard time of 4.15 although questioned)
Tyrone Calico ( Ran a 4.3 at his combine)
Jerome Mathis ( Ran a low 4.3 combine)

Old timers

Deion Sanders (4.28 combine record)
Bo Jackson ( Supposedly 4.1 "wind-aided 40 time)
Darrell Green ( Ran a sub 4.3 for most of his career)
Brett Periman ( Ran a sub 4.3 combine)

Its hard to judge which of these times are accurate. For example many say that Darrell Green or Deion Sanders are hands down the fastest to ever play the game and yet neither ever ran better than a high 4.2 so that makes it hard for me to believe that Bo Jackson or DeAngelo Hall ran 4.1's.

Ben Johnson who holds the 100m record care to guess what his personal best is at 40-yards? 4.26

All of those people are correct, but what about that WR from Jacksonville, Matt Jones. He ran a 4.29 at the combine.

I don't know about that time. I heard that he ran a 4.29, a 4.39, a 4.4 and various other times. You have to be careful because teams and agents have been known to put fake 40-times and the such out there to fool management. Im a big SEC fan and having watched Matt Jones play in college I believe that 4.4 is probably accurate. Nevertheless that is amazing for a 240lb man.

coles is def not 1 of the fastest illini, but all the other guys that have been said i believe.

STLCards002 05-09-2005 08:34 AM

Madden 05 his speed is 99 and his acceleration is 97 or something. It may not be the most accurate thing, but it most likely is really close considering the time they put into the making of the game.

MixKingRonG 05-09-2005 10:00 PM

any1 who goes by madden is just stupid sorry to say.

that game is so off, if they cant get a play up to skill they just add speed or somn to him, coles is not fast if you ever watch him play, and madden is very inaccurate.

STLCards002 05-09-2005 10:40 PM

You think they spend money to make that game for *****? It is actually accurate.

steelcityroller 05-10-2005 02:21 AM

The Madden rankings are just a group of guys opinions. A think a poll of the players would be pretty viable information. I know alot of guys have said that Mike Vick is the fastest guy they have ever played with/against.

In that contest Green came in like 3rd or 4th and he's freaking in his 40's the guy is still lights out speed. When green was in his hay day no one was near his quickness.

Come on man Deion was just as fast as Green when they played. But yes those two were pretty much untouchable.
