Week 3 Basketball Start 'Em and Sit 'Em

"For six years, Tayshaun Prince has done what has been asked of him. He has played defense and has deferred to the likes of Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace. This season, he is being asked to do more scoring and less deferring. And Fantasy owners should be glad.

Prince is off to the best start in his steady, predictable career this season and his best NBA season may unfold this fall. But as of Saturday, Prince was only active in 69 percent of CBSSports.com leagues. With the Pistons slated for a four-game week that includes some very favorable matchups, Prince is ready to ascend to the throne of our Start of the Week.

The Pistons will play a Sacramento team to start the week that is allowing over 108 points per game. Then, they'll travel to Golden State to face a Warriors team that is giving up over 102 points per game. That means the Pistons, who are averaging 102.8 points themselves, should be in pretty high-scoring week. They do face a stingy Lakers team and a Phoenix Suns team that is learning to play defense, but a 400-point week is certainly possible for the Pistons this week. That means more shot attempts than normal will go up, which is great news for Tayshaun. It should also lead to more rebounds and assists and will give him a crack at more blocks.

Prince, who is averaging 16.4 points and 6.9 rebounds to start the year, has been carrying a bigger offensive role than he has in the past early on this season. He has scored 19 or more points in three of his first five games. He has also been very active on the glass with five or more rebounds in all but one of his games. He also has at least a block in all five games and three assists in four contests. He made multiple three pointers in each of his last three games.

Even with Allen Iverson in the lineup on Friday in New Jersey for the first time as a Piston, Prince saw 15 shot attempts, the most he has seen in any game this season. It's clear the Pistons have bigger plans for their 28-year-old swingman in the middle of his prime. Fantasy owners should have big plans for him, too.

Sit of the Week

There are just a couple of teams this week that have only two games. The L.A. Clippers and the Wizards face the dreaded two-game schedule in Week 3, but the Wizards face the tougher matchups of the two teams. The Wizards will play the Jazz and the Heat while the Clippers will face the defensively challenged Kings and Warriors.

The two-game week makes starting anyone on the Wizards' roster a risky proposition, but Antawn Jamison is our choice for Sit of the Week. He's a No. 1 forward option on most weeks, but this is not most weeks. In cumulative scoring formats, Jamison is looking at 40 points, 20 rebounds, six assists, and maybe a couple of blocks and steals. And that's if it's a good week.

Jamison is averaging 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds early on in what has to be classified as a bit of a slow start for a player who has
