"On Michael Vick's debut Thursday night, Jamaal Jackson coined a new phrase.
"It's can't-wait-to-see TV," the Eagles' center said.
Not only are fans, teammates and coaches curious about Vick's first game action in more than two years, but they're also not sure exactly what capacity the former Falcons quarterback will be used against Jacksonville.
Coach Andy Reid did his best to leave everyone guessing, only dropping hints Tuesday about his plans to use Vick against the Jaguars in the team's third preseason game.
Reid said the first-team offense, guided by Donovan McNabb, would play three quarters Thursday night. Kevin Kolb, McNabb's backup, will play the fourth.
Vick, Reid said, would not play in the fourth, which means his snaps will come with the McNabb-led first offense.
Does that mean Reid would tip his Wildcat hand in the preseason?
"I don't mind doing it,' Reid said.
Reid wouldn't elaborate on how Vick would be used or how many snaps the quarterback should expect -- or if he'd play quarterback.
"I'm really just going to take it play by play, (and) see how he adjusts to the game speed,' Reid said. "If I think that's a problem I'd probably discontinue the reps, but if I feel like he's adjusting OK, then I'd continue to give him an opportunity there."
Vick, who served a 19-month prison term for financing a dog-fighting ring, arrived in Philadelphia in good shape, but Reid has said the former Falcons quarterback needed to get his body into game shape.
It's one of the reasons he's using the Jaguars' game to get Vick some reps."
