Titans rally past Ravens, go to 5-0

"At the end of the day, only their unblemished record looked pretty.

But as one of the NFL's two undefeated teams, the Titans hardly cared.

All that mattered was they'd found a way to win again, this time a 13-10 victory over the Ravens that wasn't decided until the very end.

"Slowly we are building an identity, and building something here,'' quarterback Kerry Collins said. "The things that happened today, I think they went a long way.''

Plenty of bad happened for the Titans. They were miserable on offense most of the game and lost their composure on defense. They committed too many penalties and had to deal with injuries to some key players.

But the Titans got off the mat, scored 10 fourth quarter points and are now 5-0. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants are the only other undefeated team.

"It shows the character of this team, from the young guys to the most veteran guys,'' center Kevin Mawae said. "It wasn't pretty, but we made the plays when we needed to and we won the game.''

Collins, who threw two interceptions early, led the game-winning drive in the closing minutes. He capped an 11-play, 80-yard drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass to tight end Alge Crumpler with 1:56 remaining in a game the Titans hadn't led to that point.

"I know this wasn't my best game. If fact, it looked bad for 3½ quarters,'' said Collins, who was 17-of-32 passing for 163 yards on a day when the Titans couldn't run the ball. "But we found a way to win. We showed a lot of character, especially on that last drive.''"
