"The Pistons re-signed forward Walter Herrmann, who was acquired last December in a midseason trade that sent Nazr Mohammed to the Bobcats.

"Walter is a player with tremendous work ethic and showed last year that he's a player that can contribute to this team," Pistons president Joe Dumars said.

Herrmann, a 6-foot-9, 229-pounder, played in 28 games with Detroit last season, averaging three points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.1 minutes."
