They were words the Red Sox have been waiting to utter, and their fan base has hoped to hear. While the chants of “Beat LA” in the eighth inning of the Red Sox’ 9-0 win over the Reds yesterday at a sun-drenched Great American Ball Park were comforting verbiage for those with an eye on the NBA Finals later that night, when it came to the baseball team from Boston it was Coco Crisp’s declaration that truly offered a security blanket heading into summer. “That was typical Beckett,” the center fielder said of Red Sox starter Josh Beckett. “If he’s able to keep up what he did today, he’ll be unstoppable again.”
