Eddie Jordan likely to hire Randy Ayers as aide

"According to a source close to the situation, 76ers head coach Eddie Jordan is expected to fill the last spot on his coaching staff with former Sixers head coach Randy Ayers. Jordan's staff already includes longtime assistant Mike O'Koren, who was with Jordan during his tenure with the Washington Wizards, and Aaron McKie and Jimmy Lynam, both assistants under Maurice Cheeks and Tony DiLeo last season. Ayers, 51, coached the Sixers for 52 games during the 2003-04 season, going 21-31 before being fired midseason and replaced by Chris Ford.Ayers spent the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach with the Wizards. Before being named Sixers head coach in June of 2003, succeeding Larry Brown, Ayers spent six seasons as Brown's top assistant, helping the Sixers to five playoff appearances and a trip to the 2001 NBA Finals. Under Brown, Ayers implemented the team's defensive schemes. After his stint as Sixers head coach, and before joining the Wizards, Ayers spent two seasons as an assistant with the Orlando Magic. Before coming to Philadelphia, Ayers spent eight seasons as the head coach at Ohio State and the previous six as an assistant."
