"Odds are that LeBron James won't opt to skip across the pond to play in the shadow of the Parthenon or next door to a snow-covered Red Square when he is a free agent in two years.

But at the rate that NBA players are bolting basketball's premier professional league for more lucrative deals overseas, the suggestion is no longer considered preposterous.

"Who's to say?" NBA agent Marc Cornstein said. "He is a global icon. If some team overseas decides to throw 20 million euro at him, which is the equivalent of about $32 million, well, I can't say it's impossible."

According to a report on Yahoo!, Cavaliers restricted free agent Delonte West is mulling a two-year, $10 million offer to play for Dynamo Moscow.

West's agent did not return multiple messages Friday, and Cavs General Manager Danny Ferry declined to comment on negotiations with last year's starting point guard aside from restating the club's position.

"As we have consistently communicated, we like Delonte and what he brings to this team, and that is how we have approached this free-agency process," Ferry said.

Talks were believed to be progressing between West and the Cavaliers, but the team is not expected to offer more than the five-year, $20.8 million deal shooting guard Daniel Gibson signed last week. Because West is a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers can match any offer he receives from another NBA team - but Cleveland has no such edge with foreign teams.

The left-handed West, who turns 25 today, could likely earn a more substantial deal from an international team that is not bound to NBA salary cap or luxury tax rules, and can also pay in the stronger euro. That's what a handful of NBA players have capitalized on recently."
