"Another week, another big-time injury. As pedestrians on San Antonio sidewalks keep their eye out for jumpers, Nuggets fans finds themselves a little deeper and with a true point guard-a hometown boy, no less. The season is young, but things are all shook up.

Dallas Mavericks
Are these the Mavs of old? They attempted 35 threes against the Nuggets (Jason Kidd shot 6 of 12 from downtown, which is shocking in two ways), while managing only 16 free-throw attempts. These Mavericks would appear to be soft early on, possibly as soft as Josh Howard's wrist, which limited his action in the 4th against Denver during which he waved off a pass from Dirk Nowitzki. He sat out practice Saturday and did not play Sunday against the Clippers. As far as player rotations are concerned, Rick Carlisle will play whoever is playing well. This means it is time for your Gerald Green update! Green's playing time has still unpredictable. He did chip in 13 points off the bench in the 4th, while playing the whole quarter against the Nuggets, and then followed that up with a 13 and 12 boards in a start (in place of the injured Howard) in their loss to the Clippers. Of course, Devean George seeing doctor Monday in the hopes of being cleared to play, which would further complicate things in the guard department. At least Jerry Stackhouse is only averaging 15 minutes per game (down from 24.3 from last year). Keep Green on the watch list for now, unless Howard's injury is more serious than they are letting on.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets have been slow to adjust to the motion offense (22nd in scoring, 29th in shooting) going into the Lakers game Sunday. The team's retardation has meant that Brent Barry and Aaron Brooks have proven themselves more valuable to the team, as their games are catered well towards the motion offense and spreading the floor. Barry is a known entity, but Brooks is worth mentioning here. With Luther Head being limited to 12 minutes this season, Brooks has made the most of his playing time, averaging 18 minutes, 8.8 points, 2.2 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game. His percentages have been stellar thus far as well with a 1.000 FT%, .429 3Pt%. He also led the Rockets in scoring (off the bench) in their otherwise embarrassing loss to the Lakers. Also going on in Houston, Luis Scola has been averaging 13.0 ppg and 7.3 rpg. He is only 23% owned ESPN and 64% owned in Yahoo, making you wonder what is going on in those ESPN leagues. He has been outstanding from the field and the line, contributing .567 FG% and 1.000 FT%. He should be owned in almost every league. If he is available, pick him up.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Griz found themselves going into action Sunday sitting at .500. Unfortunately, they don't get to play two-thirds of their games against Golden State. Case in point: Marc Gasol, who went off for 27 and 16, on 9 of 11 from the field and the line against Golden State M
