"Jeremy Maclin is finished with college, but he's got plenty of homework this month.
The Eagles' top pick wrapped up his first NFL experience Sunday after the third and final day of the full-squad minicamp. The rookies left the NovaCare Complex for their homes.
Rookies and selected veterans won't return until May 20, but Maclin said he'd be nose deep into the playbook between now and then.
Maclin has been questioned all camp about the adjustment from Missouri's spread offense -- a blend of deep patterns and extremely short passes -- to the Eagles' offense, which is more predicated on intermediary routes.
"It's just like learning something new," Maclin said. "Once you learn it you've got to practice it and perfect it. I think I've definitely gotten better this week and, hey, I've got to keep on doing it and keep on getting more reps at it."
Maclin has also been asked about DeSean Jackson's rookie year and if he can measure up, but head coach Andy Reid noted that Jackson's offense at California was much more similar to the Eagles' offense.
Jackson's learning curve wasn't as difficult as Maclin's might be, Reid suggested in his final minicamp press conference. But Reid also said Maclin's first camp went smoothly.
"The intermediate routes in the spread offense really don't take place like they do in this offense," Reid said. "It looked like (Maclin) didn't have any problem learning, or running the routes. He seemed to pick up on things fast. He's a real smart kid.""
