Michael Cage, a 15-year NBA veteran, began his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, after being drafted 14th in the 1984 draft. Cage played with five different teams before retiring with the New Jersey Nets after the 1999-2000 season.
During his career, he averaged 7.3 points and 7.6 rebounds over 1140 regular season games and led the NBA in rebounding during the 1987-88 season, with 13.0 rebounds per game. In that season Cage needed 28 rebounds in the final game to win the rebounding title; he finished with 30. Cage made it to the playoffs seven times, reaching the Western Conference Finals as a member of the Seattle SuperSonics in 1993.
Cage has continued to be involved in basketball and the National Basketball Association, recently working as an analyst for the Memphis Grizzlies. See Cage's archive
