"After it was believed over the weekend that Mike Zimmer was emerging as one of the favorites for the head coach opening in Miami, it appears as if the Dolphins will be going in another direction.
The Miami Herald is reporting that Todd Bowles, Joe Philbin, and Mike McCoy are the finalists. The current conventional wisdom is that the Dolphins are looking for someone with an offensive background, which would make it between Philbin and McCoy. Bowles, who was the interim head coach for the final three games, is expected to stay on as defensive coordinator after Mike Nolan went to Atlanta today. The speculation was had Zimmer been hired as head coach, he could have kept Bowles as DC and had either Todd Haley or Hue Jackson as his offensive coordinator."
