"Tight end Bo Scaife took a philosophical approach to the Titans' decision to part ways with Vince Young.

Defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks was disappointed to see a friend go.

But neither Titan sounded shocked Wednesday, when owner Bud Adams announced that the quarterback would not be on the roster next season.

Young's emotional outburst after a November loss to the Redskins — in which Young cursed at Coach Jeff Fisher and stormed out of the locker room — immediately put his future with the Titans in question.

"You ain't gonna step on the coach's toes like that in front of people," Scaife said Wednesday night. "It don't work like that."

Scaife said he had spoken to Young after the news and said the quarterback was "good."

"I think it's probably what's best for him," Scaife said. "Some things you might not be able to fix, so you just move on."

Just the same, there will be a sense of loss, Marks said.

"I'll be disappointed as a friend," Marks said. "He was somebody I played with here and grew close to as a person."

Marks suspected that other teammates who chose not to speak out Wednesday night felt the same way about Young's departure.

"Nobody would feel good about it," he said. "Everybody's going to feel that maybe he should have got another chance with another year. … Everybody grew close to him as a person, so nobody wishes he was gone.""
