"The injury to outfielder Josh Hamilton leaves a huge hole in the Texas Rangers' lineup at a key spot, and manager Ron Washington will turn to the club's all-time hits leader to fill the void.Michael Young hit third Friday night for the second straight game and will be in the spot indefinitely. Washington said he likes to have a veteran in the No. 3 spot and believes that Young is the best available player to replace Hamilton. The Rangers will have five right-handed hitters atop their batting order before the first left-hander, David Murphy. Washington said that Murphy and Mitch Moreland don't fit any higher."It may change, but right now he's hitting third," Washington said. "Besides [Adrian] Beltre, he's the one guy who's done it for a long period of time. He's always been productive, and he's my most veteran guy."Young entered Friday with a .289 average in 1,052 career at-bats while batting third. He was also the Rangers' hottest hitter on the road trip, with a .391 average and hits in the previous five games. Young went 2 for 4 Friday."
