Kevin Youkilis received a standing ovation after his final at-bat for the Red sox, and he has become an instant fan favorite since joining the White Sox.

"When you're going well, you're always a fan favorite," Youkilis said Saturday, one day after extending his streak of collecting at least one hit and one RBI to eight games. "You're trying to keep it going. Fans like when you play hard and play the game right. … If I keep doing that, White Sox fans will appreciate it."

Youkilis' five game-winning RBIs are the most for a Sox player over a 14-game span since at least 1974, according to Stats.

Youkilis didn't seem in the mood to elaborate about his return visit Monday to Boston.

"When Boston comes, it comes," said Youkilis, who spent nine seasons with the Red Sox. "We'll probably talk about it all four days we're there."

Youkilis said he has had a few at-bats about as long as the 14-pitch one that produced a game-winning sacrifice fly in the 14th inning Friday.

"I don't how long they've gone, but they're double digits," Youkilis said.
