At this rate, the White Sox's investment in Kevin Youkilis could pay off in full by the end of this six-game homestand.

Youkilis saved his best for last Wednesday night, ripping a single over the head of shortstop Elvis Andrus to score Alejandro De Aza and give the Sox an intense 5-4 victory over the two-time defending American League champion Rangers in 10 innings.

"That at-bat just really described it best," manager Robin Ventura said of Youkilis' nine-pitch at-bat against Mike Adams in which he fouled off the first five pitches before hitting his single on a 2-2 count. "He's 0-2, he's grinding, and it's just continuous.
