Yaya Toure has escaped retrospective punishment by a three-man panel of former referees following an off-the-ball incident with Norwich's Ricky van Wolfswinkel at Carrow Road over the weekend.

The Manchester City midfielder appeared to kick out at the Canaries striker and was expected to handed a three-match ban following an investigation earlier today.

But the FA confirmed that Toure hasn't been charged, though Cardiff's Craig Bellamy is set for a ban after the Welshman struck out at Swansea’s Jonathan De Guzman during Saturday evening's south Wales derby.

The FA's statement read: "Cardiff City’s Craig Bellamy has been charged by The FA for violent conduct following an incident which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
