Yankees general manager Brian Cashman refused to shed light on the "complications" discovered when Mariano Rivera had his right knee evaluated Monday, but said they would not impact his return to the field.

And Cashman doesn't believe there is any chance the closer will be back this season.

"No comment," Cashman said before last night's 5-3 victory over the Rays at the Stadium, when asked about the complications Rivera's agent, Fernando Cuza, told The Post about Monday. "It doesn't affect anything about next year. He's in good spirits."
