The New York Yankees put together a dominant day of work on Friday. Well, three of their pitchers did at least. Masahiro Tanaka, Chasen Shreve and Jordan Montgomery combined to toss a no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers in Grapefruit League action.

While not quite the same as a regular-season no-no, the Yankees’ Twitter account is pretty excited.

The Tigers did not deploy a lineup including the likes of Miguel Cabrera or Ian Kinsler, but several Detroit regulars participated and did not record a hit. J.D. Martinez, Justin Upton and Alex Avila combined to go 0-for-7 and fellow projected Tigers’ starters Nick Castellanos and Tyler Collins went 0-for-4. Martinez notably struck out twice.

Tanaka went 4.1 innings and struck out six Tigers while Montgomery pitched the Yankees’ final four frames and struck out two.
