Notre Dame's leading returning receiver is back.

Rising junior wideout DaVaris Daniels has been readmitted to school after being placed on academic suspension for the spring semester, the Associated Press reported Wednesday. He will be able to take summer classes and rejoin the team for summer workouts.

Though the school has not made the reason for the suspension public, Daniels told CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler in February his grades had slipped below the required 2.0 GPA.

A senior academically, Daniels still has two seasons of eligiblity remaining after a 2013 sophomore season that saw him finish second on the team in receptions (49), receiving yards (745) and receiving touchdowns (7) behind now-departed senior T.J. Jones. He caught 31 passes for 490 yards in 2012 and redshirted as a true freshman in 2011.
