Bradley Beal isn't back from the stress reaction from his lower right leg, but he's at least on the right path. After having his first evaluation since being put on the shelf Nov. 24, the Wizards are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel as he is being allowed to increase basketball activities.

Still, it's too soon to call his return imminent. Beal has other tests to pass and it seems unlikely that he'll be ready for games Friday at the Atlanta Hawks and Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers at Verizon Center.

"I've not talked to the doctor personally yet. I've got to get an idea what he means by ramping up to give you an accurate indication of what I plan to do," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. "It's good news. Ramp it up means he gets to get back on the floor."
