Not having an owner in place would seem to hurt the Dallas Stars' chances of re-signing center Brad Richards, who is set to become a free agent on July 1.

Richards, who has spent the last three full seasons and 12 games of the 2007-2008 campaign with the Stars, spoke with media members while cleaning out his locker on Tuesday.

On a positive note for Stars fans, the 30 year old doesn't appear to be in a hurry to decide where he will play next season.

"There's been a little chatter, but it's always come back to if I am going to sign and there's no ownership, I am still kind of hesitant," Richards said. "There may not be ownership by the time I have to make a decision. Right now, there's no rush. There's nothing that's pressing me. I am going to try to see what happens. If there is no change, it doesn't mean I am leaving. I'll have to make a different type of decision at that time."
