"Monday night's Home Run Derby was a family affair for Robinson Cano.
Cano put on an impressive display, wowing the fans at Chase Field with one majestic home run after another to beat Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez in the final.
"It doesn't matter how much money you make or how long you play, that's the kind of memory you can always share with your family," Cano said. "When you retire, you can look over and say, 'Wow, I was good back in the day.'"
What made the event even more special was that his father, Jose, served as his pitcher.
"He asked me to throw it inside and low," said Jose Cano, who pitched six games for the Astros in 1989, going 1-1. "I said, 'That's the way I throw you the whole year, so that's going to be easy for me.'""
