"The Red Wings contended with a bit of lethargy and the continuation of the Sam Gagner Show on Wednesday, but they beat the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2, for their 18th consecutive win at home, two short of the NHL record.
Drew Miller's 11th goal of the season at 10:46 of the third period was the winner. He swooped in on the right wing to collect a puck that had trickled behind the Oilers goalie, Nikolai Khabibulin.
Gagner scored both Oilers goals. Six days ago he had five goals on a disappointing season. He now has 13.
But as much as the Wings might be tired of seeing Gagner score, the Oilers have had it with Miller, who has tallied four against them this season.
"I'm just trying to get around the net, and I credit my linemates, too," Miller said."
