Miami needs a quarterback to step up in a big way in 2014. After losing Ryan Williams to an ACL injury this spring, the addition of Jake Heaps from Kansas spoke volumes about that stability at the position this season. Looking for a clean slate to work with, Heaps looking forward to seeing what he can do with the Hurricanes.

“They’re all great guys, highly motivated,” Heaps said in a story posted by The Miami Herald. “They have high aspirations for what they think they could be. It just makes me want to give everything I have to make this season a successful one.”

Miami has been improving under head coach Al Golden, but the program is still a good ways away form being a perennial ACC contender that could challenge Florida State or Clemson.
