"The Titans' Jason Jones feels like he took one for the team during the 2011 season when he accepted a move from defensive tackle to defensive end.
Whether that switch impacts his decision on signing a new deal with the Titans remains to be seen.
Jones is one of 18 potential free agents on the current roster, a group that also may include names like Cortland Finnegan, Michael Griffin, Jordan Babineaux, Craig Stevens, Dave Ball and William Hayes when NFL contracts expire in March.
Like most of his teammates, Jones says he's enjoyed his time here and would like to return. But the Titans' positional plans for him will play a role in choosing to come back to Nashville or move on.
"That's something in the offseason I definitely have to think about hard, what I want to do," said Jones, a second-round draft pick in 2008. "That would definitely play into the decision for me."
