"The White Sox should have plenty of candidates as they look outside the organization for a bench coach to aid rookie manager Robin Ventura.
The list could include former major league managers John McLaren and Rene Lachemann, although general manager Ken Williams and Ventura intimated they were specific in requesting permission from another team to interview a candidate.
McLaren, 60, has served for more than 20 seasons as a coach with the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Reds, Rays, Mariners and Nationals, managing briefly with the latter two clubs. He currently serves the Nationals as a scout."
