The Indiana Pacers waived three players following Saturday’s practice — forward DeQuan Jones, guard Trey McKinney Jones and forward Ben Moore. None of those moves were surprising, as the Pacers trimmed to the 17-player roster limit for Wednesday night’s season opener against the Brooklyn Nets at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Two Pacers on the roster had already signed two-way contracts — forward Alex Poythress and guard Edmond Sumner. Having a two-way contract allows Poythress and Sumner to remain with the Pacers for 45 days making the NBA minimum. After those 45 days, they will be paid at a G League salary rate.
