"Vikings coach Brad Childress spoke with Brett Favre on Monday, but apparently there's still no update on whether the future hall of famer will return to the team.

"He told me he was spraying weeds yesterday," Childress said. "I didn't ask him if it was with DDT or Rid or whatever they spray weeds with down there. He seems to be doing very well."

As Favre continues to enjoy his offseason in Mississippi, the Vikings can't say for certain whether he will be their quarterback next season.

What's more, the Vikings don't appear to have a quarterback of the future on their roster. It remains to be seen whether that will change during this week's NFL draft.

In a draft projected to be thin in quarterbacks, this might not be the right opportunity to shore up the position for the long term.
