The Chicago White Sox reinstated outfielder Dayan Viciedo from the 15-day disabled list before Friday night’s scheduled game against the Los Angeles Angels at U.S. Cellular Field.

Outfielder Jordan Danks was optioned to Triple A Charlotte to make room for Viciedo on the active roster.

Viciedo had been placed on the 15-day DL on April 20 (retroactive to April 19) with a strained left oblique that he suffered on April 18 in Toronto.

Prior to his injury, Viciedo was hitting .229 with two homers and five RBIs in 13 games.
